New Account Restrictions?!?!?! This can't be serious?

If you’re all this smug about something that doesn’t affect you maybe people who rage quit aren’t losing out on anything either. What a bunch of chuds.

Nothing smug about it. It’s just a statement. You are just proving my point, though

There’s been an epidemy of bots for DECADES, nothing worked so yes, IT IS a necessary evil.

Get over yourself, you’re just mad and can’t think normally. You’re a minority, most people had an account for years and don’t have to deal with this anti-bot system. It’s worth risking these supposed “new player” considering most new accounts are made for botting.

‘Why yes it’s perfectly okay to not receive the goods you pay for for an entire month because you might be a bot’

Uh no. This is lazy. Signed, a software engineer.

If you’re a software engineer, feel free to come up with suggestions that won’t become useless after a couple of weeks, make sure you come up with STRONG suggestions otherwise you better understand why things are what they are right now.

See if they would of worked on the fly hacking issues years ago, they wouldn’t have had such a bad name when it comes to bots.

Then maybe there would of been more new players joining.

If you quit WoW at some points because of botting, that’s on you but keep in mind that’s a problem with all online games, not just WoW and most people still play the game even tho there’s bot so no your theory of “people dont make accounts because the games has bot” is false.

Sure people hate bots but they still play nevertheless, they certaintly play RIGHT NOW since there’s less bots due to the new system that you all hate.

I would hope it’s less then the stockade days(SoD). But we both know it’s not doing anything at this point. Maybe the first month.

And yea I’ve only watched bots for 20 years. At least on OSRS they have to change their patterns. Here it seems they are at home.

It’s actually super easy. Consider the full 360 of someone’s bnet account; gather metrics from other games they play and make a determination on ‘new account’ status outside of just their WoW activity. IMHO that would target actually fully fresh bnet accounts and not people who simply haven’t played WoW in forever. I’ve been playing D2R, D4 etc. They have the data to do this, they’re just lazy.

Alright, if you want Blizzard to listen to your suggestion, I recommend you make a thread in the Customer Service forum.

Every new response from you is another two irrelevant / confused points to untangle. Lol. You can have the last word if you want but I’m not gonna read it.

You not being able to follow your own points is a you problem, not a me problem.

Done, CS told me to post the account consideration in general because apparently developers don’t consider anything in the CS form… so now it’s in both places.

Yeah this is a great solution that is very beneficial to the health of the game and community, right?

Yeah let me just tell the whole crew of buddies I signed up to play with ‘hey guys yeah sorry but I’m gonna ragequit’

This kills the social interaction on even a group level. Have had to vendor multiple things my friends could use, they’re able to get their professions up much faster because they can buy at the auction house. The list goes on.

The worst part of it is that it is not made clear at time of subscription that you will be hit with this restriction.

“Quit and get a refund” sounds great, but I dared to take my time and enjoy the game, so I didn’t find out my account was restricted until 2 hours had passed. No refund for me. Just a social game with a fresh economy that I can’t participate in. If I wanted to play SSF I would have played on the old hardcore servers at any point. I waited for fresh, now I’m being punished for it. It’s just kind of dumb.

Maybe.

Well, what precisely is the situation, and what precisely do you want as a solution?

Is this legitimately people who have not played WoW ever or within the last 5+ years that are coming back specifically for anniversary realms? It could be sure. Maybe there are some people in this situation.

OK, well what do you want? Are you unhappy with the current state of the game and the offering that you have paid for? This is how the OP makes it sound. If that is the case, then stop playing the game, and ask for a refund ASAP. The longer you continue to play, the more value you are getting from your purchase and the more used it is, which means the less likely or entitled you are to a refund.

If you don’t think that it is a big enough deal to require a refund, then keep playing and complain all you’d like about it, because for your particular case you think it sucks, and it will continue to suck until the restriction period is over.

It’s lazy, but only thing this corporation can do.

I’ll take it. Signed, another software engineer.

It’s like we don’t know where they are going to be going to farm.

Only been through it a few times.

I got you before TBC even comes out. Slave pens/Mana Tombs/Shattered Halls/SSC/Black Temple.

The ones in Netherstorm as well, forget the names though.
