New ability based on Fae Transfusion

What about bringing this spell back but rename it to Maelstrom? Give it some cataclysmic visuals, elemental circus of effect, etc.

I guess I don’t blame Blizzard for ignoring Shaman forum.

I’ll go ahead and assume you haven’t had the pleasure of using this ability during the prestigious expansion Shadowlands.

It was devastating if lined up properly. Has great potential.

Though, your post leaves a little to be desired

Are we flirting, this feels like flirting

In Shadow lands, Fae transfusion was fun because it gave you an absolutely massive amount of Crit and Mastery for like 20 seconds. Actually channelling it was meh. Kind of cool, but broke up the flow of gameplay.

Enhance in particular desires something like this. Right now, the damage profile is flatter than my ex girlfriend.

Doomwinds is the only potential CD that could add burst damage, but it’s weaker than throwing pillows at your target.

Something like Fae Transfusion with buffs, or just buffing Doomwinds by 1000%, would actually be welcome for a 1.5 minute CD.

I wouldn’t say it was bad for gameplay, I would compare using it to a slightly clunkier version of DH’s Eye Beam. Clunkier only because you needed to ground-target it.

I imagine a version of it that summoned a large, channeled wind AoE that, rather than giving you a heal if you cast it again, enhanced both your main and off-hand weapon swings for a short time for Enhancement or maybe make Windfury and Flametongue have an added effect.

The varying effects based on a specific spell school follow up or spec based could be an interesting interaction yeah

There is absolutely nothing I liked about the actual mechanics of fae transfusion

FaeTr outside of single target did suck due to the damage split. Other than that I loved every time I got to use it.

Experiences clearly differ. I remember vividly it’s outstanding capabilities, evidence by my post. Lining up a transfusion on a singular opponent while your wolves generate maelstrom weapon during the channel. Perhaps you didn’t use it as enhancement as I did

Vesper totem also had it’s incredible moments.

Harvest and Wave never impressed me as much as the other two.

Enhancement, resto, ele. It doesnt matter.

You used it the exact same way. You stood still and channeled a ground marker attack. I found the entire spell mechanic horrible. An AE attack that you hoped you could only use in ST is sorta hilarious and the most shaman thing possible. Not in a good way.

Vesper Totem was possibly the worst. You cast a spell, then you basically forgot about it.

Chain Harvest was just an amped up chain heal/lightning.

Casting wasn’t different, the damage output was. Enhance was significantly stronger

Sure. But I am talking about the mechanics of the ability.

As a melee, I never want to stand still and channel a cast. I dont want to as ranged either. But definitely not melee.

It made me dislike the ability across all specs.

Bridging it with cool down recovery, earthen grasp totem into a capacitor town, static cling cling totem makes for a great pressure mechanic while not having to be in melee. This was my usual setup, oh the memories…

Sounds like a pvp set up.

Make it a pvp talent then.

Not a bad idea

If there’s one thing shaman needs it’s not an X second long channel to disrupt the flow of the specs, I’m good on that.

Chain harvest, totem, and fae can stay dead.

You mean when Enhance was a glorified raid buff?

Raiding, ew no.

PvP.
