Never though I'd say this but.. what a bad anniversary event

So you still didn’t read. In order to get the full anniversary buff I’m forced to do content on each char. On principle it’s bad. End of conversation.

Definitely lack luster af. Made a pass for about 30 minutes before it lost me. Was hoping for an epic celebration but I guess I shouldn’t expect much now days :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I find it fun and you can take your time to get what you want.

edit: A rare Blizzard W.

Maybe they want you to, I don’t know, interact with the event?

They want to give you a bonus for interacting with the event?

You must really be a glass half empty person if you see it as a punishment. Sheesh.

An anniversary event where,

  • non level 80 players can´t loot,
  • non TWW players can´t do Chromie
  • many rewards are just old rewards coming back
  • only three world bosses and a BRD Raid, plus some cosmetic fluff in Tanaris
  • promised retroactive transmogs for Quests, don´t unlock pre Cata Transmogs

I give you that, hunting the dragons down was a bit you know, but now we don´t even have them anymore, so it is an actual downgrade too. Only fun may be AV now, but so many people just join for the 500 honor, so ya :frowning:

My biggest issue however is, that we get nothing for 20 years with this company. This dino mount should have been the reward for players sticking with WOW for 20 years, or some other convenience item.

Other companies hand out a gift for loyal customers, but Blizzard seems to not care about our loyality and that is the sad truth here.

You can play for 1 day or 20 years, it just doesn´t matter to them.

On every single char, every single day I want the extra half of the buff? I’m sorry, do you want me to link what ‘on principle’ means?

It gives you a 12h buff that does not tick down while logged off.

Are you trying to tell me that you are somehow spending 12 hours a day logged onto multiple characters?

Do you sleep at all? Work?

Heck if you do some dungeons, you could probably get Level 80 by the time the buff wears off lol.

I miss when anniversary was little gestures of appreciation instead of … whatever this is.

Past anniversaries: Open mail, get thing you can use to get XP buff and a couple fireworks.

This anniversary: lots of free loot, tons of XP, a bunch of mogs, mounts, and pets that you can buy, earning Timewalking Tokens for 3+ months to buy all that stuff with.

The anniversary event is poorly executed.

You get tokens by doing a list of chores that have nothing to do with the anniversary.

Its not cohesive and it feels bad.

We’re not actually given anything. We have to sit here and wait each week to get 1 bronze coin drop for doing content.

I’m talking about that whole list of mounts and pets that you buy with Timewalking Badges and the fact you can earn said badges for the next 3 months straight.

Now, the acquisition of bronze coins is a bit slow, I agree there. That could be sped up some. But the XP is ludicrously awesome, the dailies give a ton of XP and so do the dungeons, and they hand out free gear for all of those quests and it’s all purple quality.

EDIT: I started a Dracthyr Warrior… and within 2 hours she went from 10 to 30 and I wasn’t even trying to XP I was more browsing all the daily stuff. If I wanted to, I could throw a sword and board on her and probably be 60+ within a couple hours.

You’re not wrong or alone. I’m pretty disappointed too.

Yeah well some people would be disappointed in getting a free $50 bill if it were a little wrinkled.

Or they’d complain it wasn’t a $100 instead.

It truly is one of the events of all time.

I used to like killing all the dragons every day on all my alts. I liked Korrak’s the first year, before they decided to remove the scaling that made it so much fun a lot of players did nothing but that.

Grind for 3 months to get some of the gear and some mounts you are convinced I owe it to you to want, even though I’ll never use them? Nah.

its a chore because its not FUN to do… what?

the best part of all of this is the ah mount imho which u have to pay for lol
everything else is horrible. i hope they say something worth a damn in the direct.
pls tbc era.

I don’t really do a lot of group content outside of weekly world bosses so having the bronze tokens only drop from BRD and Chromie kinda blows. I would have liked the w-bosses to drop at least ONE token each. I mean, come on! @__@

The queue times are around forty minutes for those two events. Perhaps they should have made blackrock into a raid so more people can be in at the same time and Chromie’s thing into an actual scenario (scenarios from pandaland were queueable bite-sized dungeons that didn’t require tanks/heals).

As it is, I might be able to afford one set by the time the anniversary is over but I don’t know if my interest is gonna last that long. I hope they bump up bronze token accumulation and switch the bosses out weekly.

Ngl the event and most rewards feel phoned in. The year 15 event/rewards felt better imo
