The mount doesn’t bother me. It’s overpriced slop, but nothing about it feels mandatory to me.
Yeah the Bronze grind for the new T2 sets are a big fail for me.
What we don’t have enough currency grinds in the game already?
Very uninspired mechanic and not fun.
I agree the event is pretty lackluster overall, but I don’t really get the sentiment that a couple of minutes a week to do some weeklies being such a chore. Like, I put more effort into going to the bathroom every day than I do what it takes to get the weekly quests done
Just buy that damn “dinosaur” already, so they can fund more money into content.
yeah… it’s a complete flop.
If you buy 3 it averages out to 40 a set. If I can motivate myself to do any of this stuff that is my goal. Only 3 sets I like are the paladin, druid and shaman ones.
Just feels weird that they made it such a slog considering the hallows eve event is here and soon it will be the Winter one.
I played Destiny for so long this kinda stuff just really gets on my nerves especially when it’s released alongside the most garbage content imaginable
Probably unsubscribe from WoW for a while though partially cause they pissed me off with this but also cause other more serious reasons.
It was a good idea on paper, the revamped T2 and the events, but they’re way too greedy in turning it all into yet even more dailies.
Like, the first set could’ve been a freebie from doing everything in the event!
Everyone would’ve liked that.
And then the sets after that, sure make folks grind for them. (And they’ve have more time to get some next year, too.)
It’s just all asking for too much, in a game where we already have to grind just to have fun lol.
Getting the first set, you need a week of doing these things, without missing a single day.
It’s not hard, no, but it’s supposed to be a celebration? And yet, the rewards are gated like everything else.
Wait wut? We effortlessly 1 shot every boss, you must have a not so good group or something lol
Set 1 is 60, set 2 is 40, all sets after are 20. Also after you earn 100 bronze tokens then you get an achievement which lets you earn tokens much faster.
Idk, I like the content. I feel like people had some weird expectations of this event.
I expected a slightly more involved Anniversary with tokens to grind and BRD - and that’s more or less what I got. I didn’t even expect the whole ‘big event’ feel in game, that’s actually a bonus for me.
It’s honestly just bad content for very little reward. While we are doing the regular dailies for TWW you get one coin for doing the weeklies which is extremely laughable. The fact we can’t get a T2 revamp set in the first week is really terrible. Running around doing the same 5 things for everything else? Not to mention the usual anniversary rep buff we used to get now requires you to do dailies on each char for the full 20% is salt to injury. It feels overtly tedious
You have until what again, Jan. 7th to do it? They probably figured that you could peck at it a little here-and-there.
And they probably figure that most players already have the stuff unlocked anyhow.
I shouldn’t have to eek out crap every day though. Anniversary event could be a couple weeks or a couple months of time with the ability to get it one and done or bread crumb. Idc, but doing the repeats on my chars for the other half of the 20% anniversary buff is obnoxious at best. Piddly bronze coin drops are piiddly. No one wants to be doing this like this
Because 100 tokens, the first 2, takes a minimum of 3 weeks. You’ll be at minimum 2 tokens off at the end of next week, more likely 5-10 with some of the quests bugging out.
That 100 just so happens to be the line where the events will start giving them.
So, they guarantee you’re stuck for those 3 weeks before you can even try to farm the rest. It’s trying to get another month of subs off people.
Is the 10% XP really THAT important?
You get 20% from your warband, and 10% from the event… and optionally another 10%.
Going from 30% to 40% isn’t THAT huge of a deal.
Ever tried the random timewalking dungeons? guaranteed levelup until… how long? probably 50s-60s?
And in the 10s-20s it’s more like 3-4 levels per dungeon.
It’s called principle. Each year for anniversary event we were given the years as a bonus. Now if you want the full 20% , you’re stuck doing the crappy event stuff.
Pretty sure in past years it was <20%.
In fact I remember it being equal to the number of years (18%, 19%, etc).
And you didn’t have a warband bonus.
This year, you have 30% without the dailies. Last year you had 19%.
Okay and? Last year you were given 19% for 19 years. You weren’t forced to do content for it. They were giving us a gift, not taking our time. Huge difference. I don’t see what the communication error is.
And you still get a gift of 10% to go along with the 20% you already have from your warband, lol.
How much fricken XP bonus do you think you need?
And besides is it really that hard to sit at the theater for 5 minutes spamming the cheer buttons?
Oh and if you Q up for the mini raid, you even get gear.
This is why WoW is doomed to remain a shambling zombie. Everything, even things that should be purely magnanimous celebrations of the people who made 20 and 30 years possible (the players) are turned into grinds for metrics and multi-month subs. Why let players finish in 4 weeks what you can demand they spend 8-10 on and 2-3 months of subscription on.
Why let those who you’ve previously alienated and driven to quit who come back curious for the 20th anniversary have such a good time they decide they want to try the game again when you can soak them for a mandatory 3 month sub instead and so anger them with the experience that they swear off again for 5 more years?
And let’s not forget, this is within 6 months of other brutal grinds for collectors including Blunderstorm, Mop Remix, and the grind for the pre-expansion event for getting all the looks as well as for most people leveling up their characters. No room for a breather, this is burning people out. I know it is burning me out.
At this point WoW’s designers are acknowledging the terminal state of the game, it’s in managed decline at this point designed to soak the remaining suckers and addicts for all they are worth both in terms of engagement so they can pretend to higher ups that people love playing their game and in terms of money as we see with beyond the pall $90 mounts and other cash grabs (now if only they’d put it in-game for 1.6 million gold they’d have the following benefits: 1) massive gold sink 2) some people would not have enough and would buy tokens to cover it providing some cash inflow 3) people who want to return for the anniversary but only want to spend gold would be able to afford tokens more easily to do so due to the influx, BUT that would make less cash).
An exercise in short term thinking that hurts any long term chances of recovery. Why invest now and get lower returns in the short run trying to build up a property when you can continue letting it decline while extracting profit from it. This is acceptance that WoW’s player count is not something they think they can grow meaningfully so why even try.
