And now the capital of the Zandalari, supposedly the originators of the Troll race, was built on a piece of Titan technology acting as a lock to a secret Titan facility with a long forgotten Titan Watcher designated MOTHER.
Chronicles are not written hateful towards trolls or unfriendly? Chronicles doesn’t choose sides, and even if it’s from the TitanPOV, it’s relative, because the discs of Norgannon simply record what happened on Azeroth.
Yes, but that titan facility was made to research how to kill an old god, NOT to create a life, not to watch species grow.
Uldir’s titanic watcher was gifted with tenacity and an insatiable desire to discover a “solution” to the Old Gods. Her protocols have remained fully intact, even though many other systems in the facility have collapsed. WARNING: M.O.T.H.E.R. will not accept aid from contaminated subjects.
Mother never stepped out of Uldir. And Uldir itself was locked out since it’s creation.
So in order to make your theory work we need to retcon BfA Uldir lore, Kind Dazar’s Lore, then we need to retcon the origins of a troll race as a whole, so both Chronicles, and in-game wow books, and WoW Magazine.
Neato.
But that still doesn’t cover AT ALL your claim of “Kisin’s thoughts on the subject of Night Elves no longer being the original race on Azeroth”.
None of the stuff he posted adressed this at all. One quote wasn’t even his thoughts but a lore fact backed with source.
And I find it concerning that you’re bringing stuff from last year as a claim against other poster. I wouldn’t remember what I said one month ago, let alone remembering what someone else said almost half a year ago, especially when it was such a small thing.
Out of curiosity do you somewhat record each time someone writes something that upsets you?
Ahem. They sure are.
Or did you miss all the parts were trolls were described as “savage” and “vile” whereas humans always come across as heroic and justified in eradicating them?
A particularly good example for this bias is the poor “300” reference during the Troll Wars.
Because the AMANI has always been described as a dark Savage troll clan.
The Amani were no nice gentle trolls, never…that’s why they were described that way.
The same Amani that made heroic stand against C’Thraxxi? The same Amani who were minding their own business for centuries?
Well this is strange. Here I thought we were on more cordial terms than this but I guess you feel differently.
I am absolutely interested in uniqueness for everyone. The posts of mine you dug up were in response to someone trying very hard to argue that trolls were inherently inferior to night elves.
No, I was specifically arguing against the idea that trolls are unintelligent, which was made a point of by another poster bringing up that night elves are “more evolved trolls”.
It wasn’t about trolls being more special than night elves. It was about them being roughly on-par with one another in the modern age despite hailing from a dumber ancestor.
Ah yes. So they were described as not being nice and gentle because they “always were that way” rather than to justify the theft of their land and their extermination? Got it.
The general of the old gods whom they themselves awakened?
That was not Amani, it was Gurubashi Priest.
i mean the trollkind itself.
But we were talking about Amani specifically here NOT all the trollkind. Amani did slay the C’Thraxxi which they didn’t awake themselves.
Gurubashi priest did it DESPITE Zandalari forbidding approaching that place.
And after that they were only defending themselves from elves. I fail to see how heroic stand and defending their territories makes them evil and vile. It’s not like they tried themselves to bring doom to the world, like summoning Burning Legion, or abusing the land they lived on.
Most of the Titan facilities were not about watching species grow. And none of the Titan-forged were meant to be flesh and blood beings.
Uldir was not particularly well locked down, given the Underrot and improper disposal of loa that were experimented on in Uldir.
We also had Uldir’s Titan-forged outside of Uldir as well, such as Titan Keeper Hezrel.
I can’t remember what I myself posted one month ago, let alone what anyone else does.
However, this forum system comes with a very handy search feature.
I do not feel differently. We can disagree on points of matter and still be on cordial terms. I don’t have anything against you as a poster or a person.
Your posts very conveniently insisted the opposite, however, that the Night Elves were inherently inferior to modern Trolls.
So, as to not speak for you, I ask you as I asked Tihoccan - though Tihoccan did rather sidestep an answer - would you have rather the Night Elves not have been descended from Trolls and do you think that this took away from the Night Elves uniqueness for not being the original race on Azeroth?
Blizz also always says gnomes are smarter, you only notice very little of them. Blizz doesn’t really show that attribute, in Blizzard’s story, all races are equally strong, equally intelligent, equally powerful, but lorewise there are differences.
The Trolls actually took away all the land from the Titanforged…and those of the old Gods. It makes no sense to argue with right and wrong, there are only those who have the power, and those who did not have it due to circumstances.
Now it will surely come back again: Yes but NIGHT ELVES
There were zones and Watchers which were designed for that, such as Freya to watch the Life grow or Un’Goro as an evolution playground.
Loa, but not trolls. Uldir doesn’t even have contrcust inside which resembles trolls.
even
Doesn’t look like a troll. Besides having fancy armor.
You still had to remember that bit in order to find it, many times I tried to find quotes which I faintly remembered and I was unable to find them despite spending a while with research tool. Too bad none of that backed what you were claiming.
Trolls couldn’t take lands from Old Gods because Old gods were already gone by then. As For titanforged - that is assumption at best. The zone which Amani inhabitated didn’t have any zone that could be inhabitated by titanforged.
The only thing that counted was “Tyr’s fall” which is very very small place and was well hidden, as those that were guiding the tomb were hidden with their vigil.
Humans don’t particularly look like Vrykul, nor do Night Elves look like Trolls.
Though if you look at the model for the Corrupted Watcher, they have similar physique to Zandalari Trolls.

Fourth link.
The Titanforged built and formed Original Kalimdor, where the trolls once again built their empires, Oh yes, on Original Kalimdor
That guy doesn’t look like a troll at all besides using troll-looking armor.
No, Kalimdor was there from the beginning, this is why we saw Black Empire with Elemental lords roaming aorund before titans locked them up. THEN Titans let the world flourish so life could be born in there, and one of the first native species that came from it are trolls. And so they took was there to take for them to grow and live.
Are you gonna hold it up against Tauren too?
I am not sure how you reached that conclusion. Someone made the explicit claim that night elves were superior, more evolved trolls and specifically noted that they had a higher intelligence than their ancestors. I presented a theory on why modern trolls do not seem dumber or less intelligent than the average night elf.
If you’re reading into it that I think night elves are inferior to trolls that might say more about you than it does about me.
Also. I think I’ve been pretty clear over the years that I dislike the trope of the younger human race being inherently superior to elves who have studied a craft for thousands of years just by virtue of “human potential”. I only brought it up because it IS canon that younger races can and do surpass elder races in their chosen vocations. I made no judgment in the posts you presented on whether or not this was a good thing.
As for your question. It does diminish them to an extent, but they still have such a rich, well explored, and emphasized history that is constantly being spoken of in the game. You have the first druid. First demon hunter. First arcane mages. Possibly first Light priests since Blizzard seems intent on tying Elune to the Light (something I am also resistant to in hopes of avoiding homogenization). Trolls had the first empire, but that empire paled in comparison to the Kaldorei one according to the lore.
Trolls don’t have that much of a proud, rich history. Most of their history is either footnotes or getting their butts kicked. Removing the troll origin would diminish an already struggling race in terms of lore, which was my point. It is fine if you disagree with that point but please don’t mischaracterize me the way you’ve been doing.
As for if I’d prefer if night elves didn’t descend from trolls? Honestly? Yah. I don’t hate the revelation because it makes some sense, but I do hate that it sets up this precedent that trolls are inherently inferior to the Kaldorei which in turn sets up animosity between the two fan bases.
