Never have I cared less

Vrykul don’t go to the Shadowlands, as neither the Halls of Valor nor Helheim were part of them, but planes created by Titan Watchers much like they created the elemental planes.

Seems perhaps not even Cenarius remembers the Shadowlands, as John Hight explained at Blizzcon:

We’ve had some characters that have passed and have very vague memories of the Shadowlands. If you ended up being part of Ardenweald and in the Fae part of their whole afterlife is reincarnation or resurrection. So some of the characters that went through that process are going to have memories. But not deep ones.

This is not necessarily the case:

If the Emerald Dream mirrors the spring and summer of life, then the star-hued plane of Ardenweald reflects life in its twilight.

Those who pass on with a deep connection to nature are tended here by the mystic night fae, who retrieve anima from mortal souls and infuse it into slumbering spirits, rejuvenating their lives with the remnants of the old.

So Night Elves who have a deep connection to nature likely end up in Ardenweald and provide their anima to resurrect spirits such as Cenarius.

We have seen Trolls end up in Bastion, so I see it just as likely for Trolls that have had a particularly deep connection to nature to end up in the greater Ardenweald rather than just the Other Side.

I know but I used them as example of people that know where they go to in afterlife and have been seen having death-related practices (rituals).

How is that confronting what I was saying? Cenarius don’t even remember that place and you imply that nelves know about it? They follow Cenarius teaching, and Cenarius himself didn’t tell them everything, if he did that - nelves would’ve chop him sooner than Grommash did.

That’s assumption on your part. You’re of course free to make theories but so long it’s not flat out proved it will remain as just theory, not a fact.

What? I haven’t seen any and people who played on Blizzcon reported that no troll soul was present in any conveant.

So I’d be grateful for some screenshot or link to video in this case.

You know that bwons doesnt get all the troll souls right? So you are assuming your death connection is more special, sorry but its not.

He doesn’t - he has rival in Mueh’zala.

But Bastion also attracts souls with specific attitude and trolls are only serving Loa with utmost devotion. I can’t picture them selflessly guiding other races especially when they resemble people they fought in life and being in general known from being xenophobic and racist.

In some months we will see ourselves anyway. I am just repeating what I heard from people that actually played at Blizzcon Shadowlands preview. Things can change during development too.

This is why I so asked for any source that they end there. I actually am flexible enough to confront my knowledge and views.

You say this as if it is a meaningful statement to make. If it turns out Night Elves with deep connections to nature go to Ardenweald then your theory that the Night Elves have no connections to the Shadowlands will not be fact.

One sitting here at the 43:05 mark:

Trolls arent above the will of the arbiter as shown by the troll souls in bastion. I think people can make deals with the loa but even him is under the one who decides where the souls go the arbiter

well in bastion you lose your sense of self for those exact reasons

I don’t know that that flies. The Shadowlands aren’t like the infantile emerald dream. They have existed for exactly as long as all life has in the universe. The shadowlands have plenty of realms. Helheim and the Halls of Valor are probably some of them.

Wow. Nightfae and wild gods are far more villainous than I’d considered.

All the afterlives are kind of messed up.

Ardenweald is the most… Deceptive. Because while I can see someone truly dedicated to nature being willing to give up their existence to fuel the reincarnation of a wild god, NONE of the afterlives seem to ask permission before setting you on that path.

I guess we’ll see when we get there. How I see Ardenweald will be largely informed by what happens when a soul is drained of its anima, because sucking the life out of mortals to let the wild gods remain eternal is a little messed up.

Helya and Odin made Helheim and the Halls of Valor respectively. They aren’t part of the Shadowlands.

We don’t know that you can’t make realms in the shadowlands. They’re both afterlives.

Well if they are, then Fields of the Eternal Hunt is probably where Hunters go. Maybe Shamans, too? Kind feels like their kind of place. Would explain why we’re not really seeing a place for either of them in the next expansion if we’ve already seen it.

I don’t know what the fields of the eternal hunt are, so I can’t speak with any informed knowledge on the topic. It’s possible, I guess?

Halls of Valor were only last expansion. Your achievements say you ran it. They’re the area you fight the wolf boss in.

Oh, neat. That’d be cool. I assumed it was all part of the Halls of Valor, though. If they are, then that means you need Odie’s say so to get in.

But the hunter class does go there to get their class mount. So who knows?

Except I used it for different context. I said that nelves didn’t have any meaningful ties to death realms therefore they were not used for incoming book, besides Sira who is undead now.

So if it turns out that they do get meaningful progress after shadowlands is done then good for them, but it’s like claiming that Suramar will be Horde focused area before expansion was even out.
Which we know that both Suramar and Highmoutain weren’t faction focused but retroactivey introduced races that ended in Horde. Again good for them, but at time of launch through almost entire expansion it was neutral content. And it was hard to come with such a big claims.

That’s a goblin.

But in order to get to Bastion you need to have specific life quality/ attitude to even end there.

As for trolls “being so special” I didn’t make it up. That’s how they were described for some time - to go to Bwonsamdi directly. He was described to “watch over trolls before they even called themselves trolls”. Additionally in Vol’Jin book it was stated that even other loas such as Shadra or Hi’reek guide their followers to Bwonsamdi’s realm. Which makes sense, as his realm is located in Adenwald or whatever it is called and in this zone Wild gods reincarnate it seems to be right next door to them.

They (Trolls and Bwonsamdi) have a “binding” contract. This is why Bwonsamdi was not running out of Anima and found a way for soul flow while other convenants were pretty much dry from it.

Bwonsamdi is not the only one that gets exclusive souls - Vrykul has their own pocket realms.

That’s how things are for now.

I think Amadis is talking about the “Aspiring Soul” NPCs that are sitting around, but I don’t see any trolls among them.

Sounds like speculation. I don’t think you’ve read the book yet.

I said sitting, not standing. There’s a female Troll sitting down on the far left side of the screen at that mark. The player walks by her a few times if you keep watching, such as at the 43:35 mark and 43:43 mark.

well surely they would’ve put Tyrande,Shandris, Maiev or others into the summary if the Night Elves were featured in the book?

No more than Cordressa Briarbow was in the summery for Before the Storm.
