Nervous to play battlegrounds now

This was proven false by blizzards own admission today. Try again.

You don’t really think hundreds of thousands of classic players were banned… do you?

You people really do disappoint me… but at this point thats just on me

He said hundreds OR thousands. And yeah there might be a few thousand. Idk, either way blizzard should just hire GMs and stop the automated dumpster fire

Or. Reading comprehension matters

Spend more time doing the PvP objective and not on the forums and you might not be banned for AFK. Blizzard did a great job removing the carried from BGs. Thanks again Blizzard.

Its ironic that you literally dont seem to understand what reading comprehension IS.

Either way there is no automated ban system and the earth is in fact round no matter what the transmissions through your tin-foil hat are telling you

Literally incorrect. Try again

“We recently discovered a bug in our analytics data that called into question some of these suspensions, and in those cases we will reverse the suspension”

Their analytics were bugged and people who were not afk were wrongly banned.

You are a literal clown.

These are the wow forums. No one reads here.

It appears you stopped reading after that part, or just read that one sentence. You should read the whole thing, but here I’ll help you out.

“Some others were so egregious that we’re still confident in the lack of participation, and those actions will remain in effect, though some will have reduced penalty duration if it was a first-offense.”

Exactly right. You can’t blame players for doing what the game allows them to do. People need to get off their high horse regarding BGs. Just because someone is playing a way you don’t like doesn’t mean it’s against the rules.

Okay?

That part was irrelevant.

The clown said “don’t afk don’t get banned”.

And I clipped the relevant section.

I don’t feel like I should have to explain this but since you’re so obviously confused I will

First of all… you don’t seem to understand what “analytics” are… Or how the review system works. You need to understand that Blizzard employees are not literally reviewing video of people playing AV for 30 minutes each to review reports…

They’re reviewing metrics produced by their analytics system that shows stuff like clicks/action per minute, time in combat, time traveled etc etc. So if you’re reported and they see that you were averaging one click a minute in largely the same place for example, that may get confirmed as a ban.

They very specifically state in that blue post you apparently read but didn’t remotely understand that these metrics ARE REVIEWED by staff. But since the metrics were off… the staff were incorrectly confirming bans.

So not only does that post not say what you think it means… it literally says the exact opposite…

Sorry if I embarrassed you in front of your peers but hopefully this information will keep you from looking similarly silly in the future. :kissing_heart:

You embarrassed yourself if anyone. Go to bed kid.

“don’t afk don’t get banned”

As in…if you don’t afk, you will not get banned.

What about that is incorrect?

People were not afking, and still got banned.

On the larger point about how these suspensions are triggered, we have data analysts poring over a variety of metrics that we collect, to look for a lack of participation. There is no single metric that gives a clear picture, so we look at a variety of metrics to make sure we allow a variety of valid play styles. “AFK” reports from other players are just one of these metrics. We certainly look at them, and they can be a good clue for validating our other metrics, but we do NOT issue suspensions based solely on these reports.

When lots of players report a player AFK in Alterac Valley, the only automatic behavior is the application of a debuff that prevents you from gaining honor until you engage in PvP combat

Sorry you were wrong. Better luck next time

Tell me, could they detect a mouse tied to an oscillating fan? :joy:

I was 100% right and you are just grasping at straws.

I will continue queuing AV on my level 67 DK, and there is nothing you can do about it. The game lets me queue, so I do.

Right, and Blizzard admitted that was a bug and those people are being unbanned and likely compensated with something like a free month game time.

So going forward, it remains true.
