Nerf Rogues burst damage

I agree 100% with other posts. Even if you use your trinket they can still burst a ton of damage in just 1-2 secs. It’s like jesus christ, do the creators of this game even play or try things out.

This was not like this in BFA, so why did they change it and give rogues some godly burst damage with/while they stun.

This is 1000% some bullsht design and class balance once again. It’s not that hard, why does Blizzard suck on this front.

The ammount of "wtf just happened to my hp"moments in pvp this season has been hilarious. I just end up laughing most of the time. Ive also done it to ppl too. It gets a bit taking used to. Its basically like coming across a ele shammy in classic pvp, except almost everyone can do it in SL now :rofl:

It’s hilarious that people are still complaining about Rogues. This is a big burst damage xpac. Ret Paladins, Fire Mages, Boomkins, WW Monks, MM Hunters, Arms Warriors, Enh Shaman and probably several more classes can make your health go from 100-0 in the duration of one stun. You know what the difference is with Rogues? They spent literally all of their big offensive CDs to do it and can’t do anything except try to stay alive and flee for about a minute after.

Their survivability and sustained damage while actually fighting are on the low end of the spectrum. People just have a massive hate chub for Rogues, as always. Meanwhile, the Arms and Ret players will be standing in your face beating you and applying constant pressure or Boomkins will be Starsurging you from downtown. Yes, clearly Rogues are the problem…

They are the most annoying because they can sneak up on you while questing. We get it. But if Rogues get nerfed to the point where they CAN’T kill you within a stun and you could just pop a CD and heal up, then why would anybody play one? To stand there and be a loot bag of honor after you turn on them?

Sub sucked for two expansions, lrn2adapt. Rogues are fine, I have more of a problem with MM hunters double tap aimed shot into a sniper shot. At least you can trinket a stun, can’t trinket 40+ percent of your hp disappearing from a dude in stealth :joy:

Thats called Counter play, and how it’s supposed to be. Rogues were not supposed to kill people in a stun! Rogues were meant to hold people in multiple Stuns controlling the fight.

Right now they can kill someone in the Cheapshot and not even need Blind, Kidney, Gouge, which were all needed in the past in order to secure the kill. All while pooling energy using tea, and engineering gadgets, nades.

No longer needed for this iteration.

I had an ele shammy take me from 100% to 15% in the matter of two globals! I was like wtf as I laid there dead the shammy /shrug at me lol. It was an epic what the moment.

I think the issue most people are having is the ability for rogues to 100-0 you in a single stun if the targets trinket is down. All they can do is watch then start the run back to their body. It’s a frustrating experience for sure.
It completely takes the skill out of the game if all someone needs to do is create the right macro and spam it until the target is dead in the time of that 1 stun.

Personally, I kind of like having the high burst play style we have now. It’s nice to kill certain healers without needing a 5 man team helping out haha. BTW, most of my time is spent playing a healer…on both sides.

Thats because the skill cap on Rogues to utilize there kit was dumbed down massively, and then they were given Damage to ignore armor completely nullifying Plate Classes.

I am waiting for Warriors to get a Fire Ball cast next, its so stupid! I played Rogue for years obtained 130k kills, killed all kinds of players from skilled to noobs, but I used my kit, thistle tea, pooled energy, saved Cp, used Gouge to banadage up.

Todays Rogues have it way to easy, using Shadow Dance, and Cloak, Kyrian pot that removes dots again and bleeds? My God… Burst, CC, Survival, Stealth they have no weaknesses. ~ My opinion

I can tell you the reason people don’t like rogue is they have to actually pay attention to when to use defensive cooldowns, you cant just pop everything and start spamming. Part of the mini game for rogue is baiting out cooldowns and then pushing at the right time. if you dont, the fight must be reset or the rogue is at a distinct disadvantage. While the kit on most rogues has been dumbed down, to use it effectively is a different story.

Huh? Its trinket Cheapshot or die! There is no baiting, players know if they do not trinket CS they are dead or will be shortly after. That means the Rogues are doing far to much burst!

Rogues could kill Clothies in a stun back in the old days with Ambush / Backstabs. They could never do that to Mail , Plate classes. They had to work for those kills.

Assassination was preferred in the way back machine because they would do massive Poisons, Envenoms Mutilates bypassing armor. Sub had some Armor Pen on Serrated blades, using Hemo, Bleeds and garrotes.

There is no counter play, Unless you can Icebound Fortitude the stun, Stoneform the Blind, pop all Defensives before the CS, there is no counterplay.

You either have Trinket up, and fear, stun, root the Rogue and get off some attacks or heal. Or you die in that stun! As a Warrior there is zero I can do without my Trinket up even if I pop all Defensives, Rogue will walk away and reset, or blind me back into the same Cheapshot moments later.

I also think there should be a delay like “Forberance” between Cloak and Kyrian Pot. There needs to be a window to catch the Rogue out of stealth, as of right now its just not plausible.

I don’t feel personally attacked. I just think your thoughts on “balancing” rogues are hilariously ridiculous. There are plenty of classes in game more broken right now than rogues yet that’s all you want to complain about. Rogues are in a good spot but are far from broken. They are 1 substantial nerf away from being unplayable. As I said, if we can’t stun lock and kill people or re-stealth to wait for cooldowns then you’d have to be a moron to play a rogue.

I’m so thankful nobody like you is in charge of balancing.

You are partially correct, there are classes with more burst, but they cannot stealth up to me undetected and Stun me once and kill me, Maybe Feral??

But those classes too, should and will be tuned. But I shouldn’t be killed in a Cheapshot, not with Ignore Pain and Defensive Stance up. Rogues need to have a weakness, like every other class does.

Right now they have none! They can CC, Burst, Kill, Evade, Escape anytime they want with reckless abandon. Other classes should have a chance to fight back in some degree.

This is the only thing I found that gives me a chance… Lowers the duration of the incoming Blind should I be able to trinket the Cheapshot!

You thinking rogues don’t have a weakness shows how little you know about the state of Rogues. Their sustained damage and survivability is pitiful. The only “survivability” they have is the ability to run and hide every 2 minutes or use evasion to buy a little more time against melee. That time is useless though because they can’t do any real damage at that point anyway. They wear leather and can’t stand and fight anybody once their opening cooldowns are burnt because their damage is extremely subpar(pun intended) after that initial 10-15 second window.

You can still do more eviscerates, you just need t build them up, sure you will have to wait on Shadow Blades and restealth to get the ridiculous 100% legendary crit!

I’d be all for boosting Rogues sustain and lowering their upfront burst.

If their sustain is improved at the cost of burst I’d be perfectly fine with that. But just nerfing their damage would make all 3 specs hot garbage. If that’s what people want, you need to campaign for a rework rather than a nerf. There’s a big difference.

Rogues are a problem… u sit in a stun and u cant survive it. if u break the stun u get stunned still. hunters gotten a nerf to double tap aimshot. The only thing that pisses me off is shadow step. i can kill a rogue if i keep them far away from me but as soon as i run away to kite the rogue they have shadow step and when i burst shot them or hi-explosive trap them they just teleport right back.
