Building crit to proc a move that has 100% crit and cant benefit from your highest secondary stat is weird.
It’s not just weird, it’s absolutely terrible design. No other class has to rely on auto attacks let alone auto attack crit for 50%< of their damage
There is a reason why Blizzard changed KM procs from auto attack crits to just auto attacks in Wrath. Don’t know why they changed it back in Legion.
It is, and instead of Frostreaper Obliterate should’ve just had crit scaling added, similar to Fire/Havoc.
Functioned perfectly fine for over 10+ years, and still fine during Legion & BFA, until Frostreaper was added in SL, so it’s not really that terrible of a design. There’s a clear actual problem with KM and “it’s a guaranteed crit that procs off a crit” isn’t it.
Good thing Frost DKs don’t either since KM + IDT is < 40% of the spec’s ST damage when you remove all hero talent boosts. And, obviously, when you leave Hero talents in that breakdown is much smaller.
This would be awesome, it would actually make sense and be a great change
I get what you’re saying and you’re correct when you look at the overall breakdown, however obliterate is often #1 overall damage individually ranked. Having that RNG nature to it with a secondary stat aforementioned that doesn’t scale with our primary damage sucks.
