Most of our damage isn’t even coming from Oblit, Frost Strike, And Torrent. Why are they getting targeted? Torrent was the most fun part of the FDK changes and you keep murdering my boy instead of nerfing the over tuned CDs.

The main problem with Frost is that Obliterate is just useless without KM. Being built around that has really high highs and really low lows. During heroism/lust it feels great. During Pillar it feels great.
With neither and only 12-13% haste with our current gear levels it feels like trash panda scat.

Thank the people that wanted KM rank 2 going into SL. That’s why baseline Obliterate damage is low.

Are you stupid? Icy Death Torrent is the highest aoe damage frost has and its COMPLETELY PASSIVE. The second highest damage is remorseless winter which is also passive. 30% of your aoe comes from passive abilities and the rest is a bunch of 5% damage spread through the other skills. Thats not gonna stand.
Icy Torrent is no where near as good as S4 DF because we lost all of our crit. FDK’s damage relies way too much on CD’s and it sucks playing it outside of them.
I’ve never had one AOE run that Oblit wasn’t my highest damage in cleave. Shatter frost is also always higher than Torrent.

Nerfs to oblit and FS was absolutely the wrong way to tone down damage.
It won’t be a surprise to me if they continue to chip away at dps DK specs with nerfs before raid release, nearly always happens.
Obliterate is the highest AoE damage usually followed by Glacial Advance and anything Reaper’s Mark related. High IDT damage was S4.

Well when people have less than 20% crit, of course the spec is going to feel bad.

Remorseless Winter is an active ability, you still have to waste a GCD to activate it.

You mean like half of the other classes? And not even near to how unholy feels out of cds?
I’m up to 19% and it’s starting to feel alot better. Do you feel like any haste is needed or do you just jam the rest into mastery?

Haste is relatively unnecessary at the moment. It’s recommended to get 8% since that’ll basically ensure you get 100% Pillar extension but outside of that it’s not as important as it was in DF.
Max out crit/mastery as much as possible for the first season.
Crit then mastery. A few things that haste could help with like if you dont have The Long Winter where you would want 12% haste since its a breakpoint for another attack within Pillar, if you cant hit that breakpoint then its not really something you should worry about.
Crit is just too important and almost everything scales off of mastery. Icy Talons + DB should give plenty of attack speed at the moment that nothing should be an issue. RI stacking and auto attack for IDT should be enough early on.
This is really how it played out since SL when they changed KM procs. Early on you get the most important stats then later on after a certain point they kind of equalize and haste starts to be more important.

Baseline Obliterate has been low Since combat overhaul in Legion.
If not for the KM frost dmg proc, they would just make IE, FF, HB, RW and FS hit harder.
