Nerf MM hunter ASAP

its insanely over tuned its breaking BG’s we pay far too much money to play this game for class balance to be this bad you could do a 20% aura nerf to all damage and they would still be viable this is ridiculous

No, because it’s not twenty percent or any percent above the melee that kill them. It’s also not 20% above the chaos bolt launching warlocks or Shadow priests. Most specs are powerful right now with a few weak ones, bring up the weak.

nah MM is just over tuned and back when MM wasn’t as tanky it wasn’t so bad but MM hunter is tanky as hell now so there is no need to 3 shot people anymore, and also because it’s the easiest spec in the game to play you get endless FOTM rollers Aswell which further fuels the problem

My bad I thought that described BM.
MMs if you look at the Hunter forum section are saying MM has too much ramp time and slow Aimed Shot casts, I don’t agree with either of those sentiments but thats what they are saying.

In a wow period where MWs are nuking people with force lightning it is difficult to argue that a dps has too much dps. And on PTR the highest burst dps possible was Arcane mage at 8million, so look forward to that soon. On PTR MM was doing about what it does now, so do expect it to come up some from where it is, maybe instead of peaking at high 3million or low 4million it will end up near 5million burst dps, which is a far cry from Arcanes 5million sustained damage on PTR. And other specs are doing quite well for themselves too. 4million Chaos Bolts are pretty common now. Its the kind of damage I’d expect as we get close to fully geared Blood DKs getting close to 19million health.

I don’t think Hunters need defensives increased, but if they live too long it is likely a healer nearby causing it, or they dodged 2 large hits with Shadowmeld and Fiegn Death, or their enemy tried to harm the Hunter within 2 seconds of Fiegn Death used when the Hunter has the Fiegn Death pvp talent and takes almost no damage for 2 seconds after its use.

Its ramp is slow and easy to stop but the damage you can get out if you’re free casting is kinda over the top. I have no idea how they fix the mess they’ve created though without dumpstering the spec.

I welcome you to roll one and go try to play against a competent melee and see how easy it is.

Edit: oooh you’re talking about random BGs. I get it now.

When the goal in BGs is usually to target the healer, it’s very easy for a hunter to freecast and do insane damage. Not sure how they fix it either

Now, I’m not going to let my take be biased, given my class and chosen spec. I’m just going to give my perspective as an 1850 Andy.

I enjoy being MM in PvP, because you get to shoot a big gun with a big caliber, and do big damage. We have solid mobility, and a number of great CC options for a variety of situations. We also have longer than average range, which is great for picking off enemies.

We’re also surprisingly tanky: We have multiple % Health bonuses, Survival of the Fittest x2 and Turtle. Most of our traps apply a 10% damage reduction to those hit. Mail isn’t exactly plate but we can take a pretty good licking.

Our weakness is pressure. Anyone who knows how to hold ‘W’ on their keyboard can evade Aimed Shot at close range. We have one direct stun and one conditional stun. Rest of our kit is to try to peel pressure off ourselves because we aren’t going to outdamage a Warrior smacking our face with large objects, and outdo their self healing.

If we have to move in order to evade getting bullied, we’re doing a lot less damage. If we have to turtle, we’re doing no damage. A lot of classes are faster than us, and Concussive Shot isn’t going to change that too much. While the complaints about a ramp up are exaggerated in my opinion (Rapid Fire and Explosive Shot opener gives x2 Streamline and then it’s golden from there) it does take a bit to get going.

Casters have a lot of ways to do damage on the move. We have the one, Aspect of the Fox, and it’s my favorite PvP talent because running people down with Aimed Shots is hilarious. It is, however, a PvP talent and you give up a number of powerful options for that privilege. Many other classes have it as a regular talent.

If people peel for us and allow us to stand our ground and plink away at enemies? We’ll do work, and a lot of it. If we become the ire of the enemy team (which is very common: We’re a priority target) we will eventually need support or we’re just dead. Peeling off a Warrior or DH requires all the stars to align and everything to go off perfectly, or it’s all downhill from there.

So, yeah. Big damage, but also stationary damage and we’re a melee magnet. That’s how I see it.

Now for the biased section: Don’t nerf me.

yeah man I’m talking completely in context with BG’s arena is a different ball game BM is the goat there, but MM damage makes BG’s a chore to play it’s just super oppressive because of the range and the dot that rolls off the crits and sentinel procs it’s an insane amount of damage in a short amount of time from really far away lol and if you haven’t got and cd’s ready to go your kind of cooked

Yeah, playing marks against competent melee(except Ret, R.I.P. Ret), is probably just as hard as playing Enhance against component ranged. But I don’t know of any specs that are not a threat if left to do what they want.

Funny, but, I don’t seem to have any problem with MM.

I dno man I see some MM hunters pulling off crazy stuff where melee can’t even connect but that’s the really skilled dudes I suppose, the main issue is how easy it is for anybody to pick up in BGs with some mastery gear and crank half of peoples HP with a single rapid fire from 50 yards away followed by a juicy DOT then sentinel procs on top and your nearly dead from 1 button lol

Shamans are weak thats why. I gave up on playing mine outside of memeing.

There are reasons the game isn’t balanced around random battlegrounds.

we all pay a ridiculous amount of money to play this there is ZERO excuse for all content not being balanced specifically to each format of gameplay but us a community have blizz get away with it for years and now it’s the norm were PVP basically doesn’t get any new content look how long it took for a new BG and its some thrown together in 5 mins mess a child could have thought of

?

sorry was just my 2 cents on the balancing thing i don’t think it’s fair it works like that they’re more than capable of having different auras for content seeing as they already do it but yeah i agree balancing the whole game around BG’s would be silly but its still content that should have meaning and proper balance to it

I rerolled to an MM Hunter. It hits hard and is pretty fun, haha. But FOTM rerolls like mine are also easy to beat in PVP since a lot of players aren’t great at the class. My traps still miss targets a lot in BGs, lol. So don’t worry, we’ll be feeding you a lot of wins to boost your rating!

MM in leveling bg brackets is absolutely overpowered.

Honestly? I use traps exclusively at close range with @player macros. Most of the time I want to trap a melee gunning for me anyway, and anyone who has the audacity to hold A or S at any reasonable distance is going to flat out evade the trap. Binding Shot could also just flat out miss.

At close range, though? Against targets I actually want to keep tangled up? There’s no chance for failure. It’s saved my life way too many times. I can always stun/Scatter a healer, run up to them and plop a Freezing if it came down to it (I don’t use Diamond Ice just because it tilts me to have my damage suddenly nullified because someone panic threw a Freezing/Cyclone) but for most intents in purposes I want to trap those who are directly a risk to me and others.
