I mean between them, the mage they’re playing with, and the RDruid or Hpal they’re playing with… when is that exactly? Especially if they don’t make many mistakes, if any.
its mobility is actually pretty bad compared to other melee spec, maybe bad is the wrong word, but balanced maybe is better? at least, it is definitely not insane
it has 3 dr’s. 2 of them have very little uptime, blind being a 2m cd and sap only really being a factor in the opener and when u vanish every 2min. hardly reliable
its slow, crippling poison, is only 60% its benefits from mastery poisoner are nerfed. its application rate can be pretty low sometimes too and its ranged application, via poison knife costs 40 energy
yeah i guess, not so much as a few other classes. i would say this is the least of its problems and really, a non issue.
i don’t think the rogue is at fault for its dominance.
these are the only real issues with the spec i feel. the ms is the easiest thing to fix obv just nerf mastery poisoner in pvp. but its damage is pretty on par with alot of other melee specs so, while i would welcome a nerf to mut i think it should come with damage nerfs to other specs high preforming as well. i want nothing more than to be able to play sub again and im sure most rogues feel the same way.
Imo assassin should never be meta. But ultimately to not completely destroy the spec here are changes I would suggest:
Nerf it’s burst leave the sustained. Assassin should act like an affliction lock. The main purpose should be running around dotting people. Topping damage while training someone to the ground, while also having one of the most disgusting bursts in the game is not right.
Also take away the application of their poisons from their throw. That’s pretty lame
Nerf internal bleeding as well. Brain dead talent that doesn’t deserve to be picked
1600 mages landing blind/saps or KS/saps… what? It’s beyond brain dead to get this kind of play now with rogue. “BuT iT dR’s” isn’t really an argument for the plethora of CC available to Rogue that doesn’t DR with their prime partner’s buttload of CC (mage).
Range super snare, you can fan of knives to slow through the boxes in Dalaran, and generally just load someone up with poisons when connecting. 40 energy really is nothing, not a defense for how much snare and control rogue has.
Players? Sure, no. Rogue is has generally been absolutely dominant in PvP for most of it’s history. People are simply hating the blank face of rogue because for SO long rogue has just been pressing W at you. At least half a decade now skill has been removed from rogue by and large.
But yeah, rogue damage is also over tuned especially in concert with their control and ability to simply sit on a target.
Nobody likes playing into it. It’s not fun. Nothing about this current “organically developed” meta is fun.
The damage is nutty, but the CC? It’s literally just KS every 20s. If a Rogue doesn’t have a pocket Mage literally CCing the enemy team by himself, you can just Usain Bolt at him the entire game and win.
Our major dps cd is a debuff on the enemy that can be cloaked or immuned. It ONLY affects thr target its cast on so if a quick swap happens GG you just wasted it
lol… people forget how super annoying sub rogues where. I would prefer to fight sin rogues 100% more then sub rogues. Is it more fun? I don’t know, I personally didn’t like the sub play style and I played rogue for 10 years.
I would play outlaw over sub if given the chance and equal value.
And like I have said before… make it where rogues do % less damage to stun targets. Lets see how that works.
Well with sub you can just position far away from each other and actually shut them down, they just punish people with bad positioning or melee cleaves
Assa doesn’t have any real counterplay to it and any random can get self played to r1 with it (not joking this actually happened to a bunch of rogues last season) since all you need to do is just kidney shot and toxic blades when DR is up and you have no other obligation whatsoever
With sub the rogue has to be doing way more in the game, and the person playing it actually matters
