NElf Genocide Didn't Happen

Performed inhumane experiments behind the Horde’s back, some that endangered the Horde itself.

A faction slaughtered countless Alliance and Horde troops, including Saurfang Jr. and severely wounded Bolvar.

Willingly engaged in Necromancy using agents of the Scourge.

Captured Argent Dawn crusaders to use purely for making their leader’s favorite boy toy look pretty again.

Slaughtered their own troops with Blight, only to raise them as mindless skeletons.

Launched an assault that nearly wiped out an entire race and annihilated their capital city.

BUT NO THEY’RE THE PROTECTORS OF THE LIVING. OKAY. YEAH. GOT IT. And hey, let’s just hide that whole Teldrassil thing while we’re at it.

This better not go live.

Don’t worry guys, it’s probably another way to protect the living, just like the Forsaken always do.

They changed the wording on that.

Cool transmog.

Okay but, does the red shirt dude speak for Blizzard? Yeah he got famous for a correction in WoW lore, at least once.

But I am still wary until an actual Blizzard employee confirms it. Remember to keep that in mind.

Important life lesson kids: every culture skews the stories it tells of its past.

Was it retconned or are they omitting it to not ruin the story for first time players…

Let me start up the old Metal Gear Solid and complain that I was not told Liquid snake is my half brother from a scientific super soldier project from the first two minutes of the game. Must be retconned. Get out your pitchforks!

They are omitting it from the BfA leveling experience (not like it actually got much mention before), but it plays a large role in Shadowlands. Tyrande is still seeking vengeance as the night warrior. There are also out of control enraged night elf spirits.

I am assuming they are omitting it because the events themselves happened in the BfA prelaunch and are no longer available to do.

If you think about it Metal Gear Solid did the same thing with their story everyone is up in arms about. They told the same story like three times with a variance in two of them, and one of them was a straight up remaster.

Metal Gear Solid - Original

Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty - Reorganization of the events on Shadow Moses Island, with its own version of Foxhound

Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes - Literally the first game remastered

I think they would still be available. Say what you will about the story but most likely its still there and Blizzard just does not want to give away the story at the inception for newbies that do not know about current lore.

MGS 1 and MGS Sons of Liberty are sequels. Very different stories.

MGS Twin Snakes is an abomination but at least it doesn’t ruin the story elements at the onset of the game

13 hours later and Amaris still has not given me any sources for any of his Horde should 100% own Azeroth because the Orcs have more claim to it than any other race on Azeroth besides his own feelings.

It is also only a snippet of information that tells you nothing about what else is there. The fact that those snippets don’t have information about something (like Teldrassil) tells you nothing about whether such information is elsewhere.

Genocide should never have happened in the first place. Was a stupid shoe horned plot shoved down all our throats just to force a faction. Could’ve easily had Sylvanas burn the tree out of spite after everyone in Teldrassil was evacuated and her end plan ruined.

The mad rush through Darnassus to save as many civilians as you could in three minutes was simultaneously the best and worst content Blizz has ever done.

Assuming you mean the forsaken “protect the living” thing, it was not changed.

Quote of the thread.

Whats a night elf? Never heard of em.

Oddly, had Tyrande killed Nathanos it would have solved so much. Nelves would have had a nice feeling of vengeance and the Horde wouldn’t miss him. Wins all around.

Just guessing here, but less server time they have to pay Amazon for?

Do we? If Varok Saurfang had not put an axe in his back Malfurion would have forced Sylvanas to retreat, Are we TRULY the ones who suck if we trampled y’all in a fair fight? Even Sylvanas admitted that she and her Horde forces couldn’t take Malfurion and the entirety of the Night elf standing sentinel army if it came down to it, thus why they had to leak the misinformation that the Horde army was marching south instead of east.
