“I didn’t summon you to Nighthaven only to listen to your self pity, Ilsarith,” the aged druid muttered between fits of hacking coughs. “I have grown ill, and I do not know when I expect to recover. I need your help now more than ever”.
Ilsarith watched as kaldorei and shu’halo druids tended to his brother. “I do not mean to disappoint you, Kahz. That wasn’t my intention when I answered your letter and arrived here”.
“Be that as it may,” Kahzreth wheezed, “you speak to me of redeeming yourself and being of use, of finding your place among our people again. How can you hope to achieve this by being idle and wallowing alone?”
“It isn’t that, brother. I am just worried they will not trust me. I mean, look at me”, Ilsarith held his clawed, grotesque hands out before him.
“That is enough. I’ve heard all I can stomach. What would An’da and Min’da think if they were still here to listen to this? You must give them a reason to trust you. Maybe not all will, some will hold your past against you, but are they worth a second thought? All that matters is that I trust you, and I desperately need your help. Does that mean nothing to you?” Kahzreth berated while his withered form lay across the small confines of his bed.
Ilsarith’s brows creased apologetically, “Kahzreth, you’ve always been the wiser of the two of us. I am trying to move on from the things I did. I struggle with the poor decisions I have made and that have led me here. There are days I wish I just stayed in Felwood. It has not been easy returning to our people and society.”
“Well, the least you could have done was write to me, letting me know you were still alive. How selfish of you. I thought you dead all these long years; imagine my surprise when I heard you were alive and in Stormwind. I thought it pertinent to write to you immediately,” the druid scoffed.
“You are right. I defer. I just did not think you would want any part of who I’ve become. I do wish to help you, so please, tell me again what you want me to do. When will you be better?” Ilsarith asked.
Kahzreth breathed, releasing a raspy exhale. “I do not know. The other druids in the Cenarion Circle think I need Bathran’s hair. They’ve sent fledgling druids to gather some for me within Ashenvale. As for what I need you to do, I entrust you with my life, and I ask you to represent me as a Shan’do in Ru Shallora Enudoril until I have healed and regained my strength. Our lands need balance restored to them, and many of our people reside as refugees in Stormwind as you’ve surely seen for yourself, they need our aid. The Cenarion Circle is stretched thin and can not be everywhere at all times. I ask of you to gather able bodied kaldorei to aid in Elune’s call. I think you need to hear this, I believe in you Ilsarith.”
Ilsarith’s face contorted in concern. "I feel unfit to do so, but for you, I would do anything. I cannot say ‘no’ to you, Kahzreth.”
Kahzreth smiled, "No, you cannot.”
Kahzreth reached to his bedside table and fumbled for a rolled up parchment. He unrolled the scripture in his palms. "I know you can not read the words upon it, so I will read it to you. I have taken the liberty of writing several of these. They’re all sealed, save for this one, and will serve as proof that I have commissioned you to stand in my stead for the time being.”
The druid began, reading it to Ilsarith between labored breaths.
Elune’Adore, my friends.
I am writing to you to call for your assistance. It has been some time since I have seen many of your faces. However, the time has come to heed nature’s call in full!
We have been through much, we, the kaldorei. How many of our tears have watered our sacred lands?
The treachery of our own kin, the Sundering, and many becoming twisted visages of themselves in the satyr and naga.
The invasions of the Burning Legion and their ever remaining fel corruption upon scorched earth.
The Emerald Dream becoming known as the Emerald Nightmare many of our druid brothers being trapped within it.
The War of the Shifting Sands and the countless losses in Silithus.
The loss of our immortality and the events near Nordrassil on Mount Hyjal.
The death of Cenarius at the hands of demon blood drunk orcs.
The devastation of our homes and deforestation of our woodlands by the orcs and the Horde.
The destruction and loss of life from Neltharion’s attacks on Azeroth, deforming much of Darkshore, and Feathermoon Island.
The Twilight’s Hammer Cult and the Firelands manifesting on our already mending lands in Hyjal.
The pain that I - and countless others - felt keenly when Fandral Staghelm and many of my brothers and sisters turned to darker powers…once again, within Mount Hyjal - a place where the land already cried out in agony.
The War of the Thorns…Teldrassil. I need not speak on this, for it is a pain that is also felt keenly and will endure for so long after.
I could go on, but I believe my point has been made. Furthermore, the heart of the land has suffered worse than we have. Without our aid, it may never return to the serene beauty much of Kalimdor held many long moons ago.
In recent times, the younger generations of kaldorei run off to achieve glory and exaltation but seemingly forget the plight we face from day to day. There is more to life than drawing a blade or casting a spell.
What I am proposing to do is form a new order. An order which acts in the interests of our people, but more importantly nature itself. To regroup and refocus and rediscover what is important in our now mortal existence.
Whether it was to put an end to the deforestation of our homes by the Horde, or to simply cull the rising population of predatory animals that have no natural predators themselves, these are things that must be attended to.
“Anu’dorini Talah, Ru Shallora enudoril!”
That is the charge Elune herself laid upon her creations. To care, protect, cultivate and preserve the beauty that remains of Mother Moon’s gifts to us.
I will be sending my brother, Ilsarith, out to find all of you in the coming days, weeks and months. May this letter find its way to your hands and your heart. I will receive your replies in person when I am mended.
Ande’thoras-ethil.
- Kahzreth Shadowrage
A reverent silence befell Ilsarith for some time before he spoke. “I am moved by your words, Kahzreth. I, too, endure these transgressions upon our people. I will attempt to make amends with myself and I will seek out all those who will answer nature’s call. I will make you proud of me,” he murmured with determination in his voice.
Kahzreth dismissed the druids, "Leave us, please,” he ordered, before turning his attention to his brother. “Very good, Ilsarith. That brings joy to me. It is exactly what I wanted to hear. However, the sun is rising, and I must rest. Surely you must as well after traveling here all the way from Stormwind. There is a spare bed within my quarters, please take it and rest. At nightfall, Amythrien can carry you wherever you need to go. The last you saw him, he was just a hippogryph hatchling, now he is fully grown. He knows the way home, so do not worry about him once you reach your destination. You should return to Stormwind and begin your search for our brothers and sisters who need a new cause, a new hope… a new home.”
Ilsarith found his way to the bed offered by his brother. He laid restlessly, wondering to himself how he was going to do this and honor his brother’s request. Eventually, sleep found him, and for the first time in years, his rest was peaceful.
The moons were high overhead, shining brightly in the clear night skies, reflecting off lake Elune’ara’s still waters when he awoke.
Ilsarith bid a terse farewell to Kahzreth before packing provisions for his long journey back to Stormwind City. He stored the sealed letters Kahzreth had given him in their own satchel, being sure to handle them with care, and loaded them onto Amythrien. He began to smile as he pulled his hooded cloak up and over his darkened hair while his other hand ruffled the hippogryph’s feathers.
“I believe it is time for a change,” he whispered to the winged animal. “Yes, it is time for a change,” he echoed.

OOC
In Classic, there is a quest chain within Winterspring called “Guardians of the Altar”. It has since been removed from Retail during Cataclysm. It was about a artifact named the “Gem of Elune” which allowed direct contact with the Moon Goddess. She spoke to her people, the kaldorei, through it. This is where we drew our inspiration for the guild name. A vision shows us the following text -
Voice of Elune says: Anu’dorini Talah, Ru shallora enudoril.
Ru shallora enudoril = I anoint these caretakers of the wild (Said by the voice of Elune)
So we are known as, “Anointed Caretakers of the Wild”.
With that out of the way, Ru Shallora Enudoril is a night elf exclusive medium to heavy RP guild, focused on kaldorei lore and culture. ICly we are caretakers and guardians of nature, tasked with defending the wilds, wherever they may be. This includes kaldorei ruins and artifacts that we wish to reclaim, and our strongholds and peoples. We may have sentinels or wardens, past or present, within our Order but we ARE NOT a military RP guild. We are invested in the preservation of nature.
Rank Explanations:
Shan’re (“Honored Friend”) - Every Kaldorei who enters the Order receives this title. Participation in and/or creating RP will lead to IC/OOC promotions. Once you’ve earned your first promotion, you’ll be assigned a title (In Darnassian) depending upon your IC class.
DISCLAIMER; the following ranks are all considered equal rank IC, but due to mechanics of the ranking system, some will show as being higher ranked in places like the armory and the in game guild UI window. All of these ranks have the same restrictions or privileges and are looked upon as equal within the guild.
Shalla’tor (“Shadow Render”) - A dedicated Demon Hunter of the Order.
Serrar’Delar (“Blade of the Ancient Keepers”) - A dedicated Warrior, Rogue or Monk of the Order.
Rhok’Delar (“Bow of the Ancient Keepers”) - A dedicated Hunter of the Order.
Lok’Delar (“Stave of the Ancient Keepers”) - A dedicated Mage of the Order.
Zin’Malor (“Glory of Malorne”) - A dedicated Druid of the Order.
Jai’alator (“Noble Blade of Elune”) - A dedicated Priest of the Order.
From there, dedicated members can achieve the following rank that is considered higher ICly than the aforementioned ones:
Shan’are (“Honored One”) The dedicated Officer title in the Order. An outstanding member who always leads by example in service, kindness, ideas and/or leadership; they (co-)create/lead/write guild-events/assist others in events/participate in the events of others.
Shan’do (“Honored Teacher”) - The Guild Master rank.
RP Base of Operations:
TBD Currently there isn’t one. There are lots of beautiful night elf areas in the game and we intend on using them all, sooner or later, in our ongoing story and campaigns. Our home are the forests and kaldorei ruins of Azeroth.
How do I apply?
Be a Night Elf. This means RPing a Night Elf. No dryads, dragons in disguise, moonkin etc etc. We are a Night Elf only RP guild. It should also be noted that at this time we do not accept Death Knights into our guild as undeath is not natural and it is in contrast with what we do IC. If you can think of ways to RP one without being dead, by all means, approach myself or an officer to discuss this. Demon Hunters are also accepted, though in small number.
Have an RP name, have TRP3 or MRP installed, and be max player level! The name doesn’t have to be perfectly kaldorei, but it should be RP-friendly – “Rogueqt” is not an RP name. If you can make a case that your toon’s name is a lore-abiding name or nickname with a reason behind it, you’ll probably be fine (we will help you with naming your new night elf characters if need be! So feel free to ask!). All new members must follow the Blizzard RP naming policy, basically.
Some guilds use applications to join but since we’re RP first, we want to see what you can bring to the table with a quick IC interview. Just be sure to ping Draena or any officer (listed below) in-game for an interview. It isn’t a test, just a way for us to gauge your RP style and to talk a bit in person about what you’re looking for in a guild and whether or not we’ll be a good fit for each other.
GM & Officers: Draena (GM), Taldorne (RP officers), Lyreille & Ayura (DM’s).
Recommended RP Add-ons: Listener, Emote Splitter, Dice Master. (None of these are mandatory, but they do help big time!)
Additional OOC Information: We do a lot of PvE as a guild, such as Mythic+. We are always willing to help new or returning players in getting caught up on gear to make their in game journey easier!
Thanks for your interest in Ru Shallora Enudoril, and we look forward to RPing with you soon!
