Dude, are you serious right now? Can you not look at achievement? Sure I haven’t cleared Mythic raid and don’t run 24’s like your arrogant self, but I’m not sitting in Valdrakken all day champ. And just a quick achievement point comparison shows I’ve done far, far more content in this game than you have, so take a seat in that regard, ok.
You said “It’s not tied to any gear or power related progress for your raiding/pvp/m+ character in any way.” and that statement is 100% incorrect regardless of what your feelings on the quality of gear, power, or player that receives the gear. You seem to be unable to grasp that and keep trying to reinvent what words mean to suit you when you could simply take the L, say “My bad, yeah it does give gear, and regardless of the ilevel of the gear thats kinda crap design.” and move on, but you persist…

its not tied to plunderstorm. its a catch up mechanic gifted through plunderstorm, if it was tied to plunderstorm that would mean its the only way to obtain it, its not. theres several other ways to get that gear more efficiently, and faster by actually playing retail.

Yes it is. You have to take part in Plunderstorm and get to renown 5 to receive the quest in retail to get the currency.
The only way to get this “gift catch up mechanic” is to play Plunderstorm. You can not receive the currency in any other method. Doesn’t matter if we are able to get the same piece in game by other methods. The only way to get this ACCOUNT BOUND piece of gear is via playing Plunderstorm.

Can you get a normal piece of raid loot by doing normal raid, m+, vault, pvp? Or is plunderstorm the exclusive way to get it. I can see where maybe you haven’t gotten a specific trinket by now and are hoping the RNG of the random piece gets you that loot, but with the same logic you can also kill the boss and rely on the same RNG to get you the piece, or the vault. Either way. Yes theres a piece of gear rewarded to players of plunderstorm, is it a meaningful power progression for the average player who has actually played retail the past 5 months of this season? no

My original post clearly stated a power progression related piece of gear. We are way beyond normal ilvl being progression. We won’t agree on this, since you are not forced to play plunderstorm to get normal ilvl raid gear, or equivalent through m+

No because season 4 is a few weeks away… We are at the end of this raid tier.
No, YOU are way beyond normal ilevel being progression. My 14 year old who came back to the game this week after a 2-year break isn’t. Thats a huge upgrade for him and can be used on any of the characters on his account he decides to play on. All he has to do is play Wowfortnite and get gear he cannot get by any other means. Stop applying your progression to everyone else in the game.

My goodness im having a fight with a player who hasnt killed a single normal raid boss in the last 3 raids of dragon flight. are you for real right now
And that has ZERO to do with the fact that people can get account bound raid gear by playing Plunderstorm right now, today, March 22, 2024.

So you’re telling people they aren’t forced to play…and immediately following it up with “you should play it for this reason” which is the reason people feel forced to play it
No there isn’t. But it was on the WoW roadmap, I think most of us were expecting WoW content. Not whole a new game.
If they’re going to do this again, they should announce their plans to try a new game mode, instead of keeping it a secret and advertising it as an addition to the game we already like.
