we need a huge increase spawn rate on mining and herb nodes for wotlk. leveling any profession will cost over 10k g

You get layering if you are on a mega server. Each layer had its own set of nodes.

Part of my original wrath experience was flying around the basin for hours at a time competing with players and bots for ore and herbs.
Fun times.
PvP servers make this so much more interesting too!

Not fun times because then you miners kill loque’nahak, the pet I’ve been camping hours for. I remember that happening back in wotlk.

I never killed him and I’m insulted that you would accuse me of that because I said I farmed herbs and ore. I used to call out his loc to nearby hunters. Not everyone is an MMO sociopath.

idc about pvp good. we still need more ore.
I was more generalizing miners and herb pickers because the only reason to be in the basin is to level, tame, or professions and not many people level in basin.

The Basin is the best zone in wrath. There were always people there.
I don’t really remember anyone leveling there, then again it might be the best place to level idk. All I remember is loque’nahak getting killed and having to camp him

I posted this on another thread but it’s going to be interesting to see what happens on the mega servers when the import market from the lower pop servers is shut off. People don’t even realize how many of the mats were coming from off the server.
Or maybe we need those to change and function just like retail.
It always been the great strategy to send a farmer to a low pop server, farm, send back materials to mega server.

I have leveled all my mithril by running uldaman a bunch of times (5 per hour lockout), they have 4 ores each. So that is 20 ore levels an hour. Sometimes you get unlucky and get iron deposit or truesilver and you arnt high enough to mine it, but most of the time its mithril or indurium ore which is same level range as mithril.
At lvl 70, you can bypass mobs or easily aoe them down, so its quick, painless, and easy levels. Dont waste your time running around mindlessly in world

I leveled mining from 1-300 for like 75g.
the levels gained from smelting is low
You can do 1-290 with just smelting. The can quickly get the last 10 levels by mining thorium of course. Don’t bother smelting Outland stuff though.
