Need help with bad GPU Artifacting

Hi friends!

I’m seeing really crazy / bad geometry in game- I was able to capture it on the video (starts at :04 and resets itself at 1:14). Does anyone know what could cause this?

I just installed a new 5090 and have done all the driver uninstalling and reinstalling, started from scratch with a new NVIDIA app, tried the studio and game ready drivers- and still see it ~once per session.

Any ideas / recommendations?

5090s have a reputation for driver issues. NVIDEA in general does, honestly. I don’t even auto update drivers anymore on my 4090. I’ve had to roll back new drivers three times now because they’ve been broken at release. I give each new driver update 2-3 months before applying.

I’d suggest trying to install an older driver version, maybe 2-3 updates ago.

2 possible things I quickly found from somebody else that had this issue.

  1. Disable ray traced shadows
  2. Render scale above 100% fixed the issue for somebody

You can try /console gxrestart too, this restarts the graphics engine but probably won’t fix the root cause of the issue.

slightly troll answer but check the 5090 is plugged in all the way and the 12vhpwr connector is in fact not melted to the card or PSU.

I swapped back to DirectX 11 and that seems to have resolved it- unknown if I’ll be able to turn it back to 12 :frowning:

Thank you all for your help!

The Nvidia drivers for specifically the 50 series just haven’t been that good compared to what they used to be (people think of AMD/Intel for having GPU driver issues, but right about now AMD has the good drivers).
