Need help my brother’s account was banned for no reason. The email reason says unauthorized cheat program. Neither of us has ever cheated at this game or run a hack. We both work in software development and sometimes work home. He uses Visual Studios for work. Would that cause a ban? What can we do?
Your brother will need to file an appeal via ticket. You cannot do anything about it.
THtas a very good possibility as it can be used for automation work and wow on the same computer never realy work well together what may not be gaming related could still be used for automation and straight from google.
Yes, Visual Studio can be used for automation tasks. It offers various features and extensions to automate different aspects of software development and testing. Visual Studio provides an automation model for customization, allowing users to create add-ins and extensions for automating tasks within the IDE. Additionally, Visual Studio offers tools for automating testing processes, including unit tests, load tests, and integration with other automation platforms like Azure Automation
At the end of the day all ur brother can do is apeal.
is there no way to contact support or than an appeal?
No never has always has to be done ticket u cant plead ur case they go by logs and logs alone.
This is so frustrating. How long does it usually take to get a reply for an appeal?
2 days i think the current wait time is.
Ok thanks for your help.
If u use similar programs as ur brother id suggest rethinking having those on ur computer.
We have been playing this game since BFA and have never done anything bannable. Why do they have an autoban system?
No such thing as autoban wow has a program that is 100% on all the time called warden that continualy looks for anything that resembles automation programs then sends it to a GM to determine its its actionable.
There is no autoban system! Any actions are taken by a real human after they verify it is correct.
But he was not doing anything wrong.
The forums isn’t for a debate on what someone did or didn’t do. All we can tell you is for your brother to appeal it. Everything else is a moot point as it won’t be taken into account with the appeal team and anything said here won’t be a factor.
The progrqm u mentioned can be used for automation even having ot on your computer can cause a flag.
ok. thanks for your help
To set expectations for your brother, he’ll get 1 of 4 different response templates:
- upheld: no error was found, account action will remain as is.
- overturned: action was found to be in error, action and mark removed.
- penalty reduced: rules breaking was found, but less severe than initially thought and account wasn’t purely exploitative. Usually this takes the form of permanent ban reduced to a 6 month suspension
- escalated: This is being sent up for a more advanced and in-depth review, but it’s going to be a few more days before you get a reply.
And the outcome of the escalation will be one of the three dispositions listed.
Thanks for the info. When he sent the appeal he explained the situation, so we are hoping for a positive response. So far it still says Appeal Pending. I suspect we may not hear anything until early next week with the 4th of July holiday. Is there anyway to speed the process along or weigh things more in our favor?
As been said, the appeal team only use their internal logs. They don’t take outside info into account for appeals. We don’t have much a time frame on when they’d reply beyond ‘two days’.
