Need before Greed: Why causals and solo players quit

If I ever end up having to use it, I’ll adapt and overcome the demands placed on me as a player.

I have so much depth in my own pocket to reach into. Do you know when you are approaching your limit? Do you have a sense for that? Are you old enough to know when you have headroom for growth and when you are at your peak? It’s not complicated for anyone who has lived on this earth actively for long enough.

I’m not worried about where I am, but with all the alt-posting and gatekeeping you and your crew spew, it’s kinda funny how hardstuck you seem.

Another problem with the scaling of BFA is Blizzard made it level to 60. So by numbers now BFA is actually 1 xpac back like SL. Blizzard actually funnels brand new players into BFA for leveling 10-60 like BFA was last xpac. They need to put a legacy buff in there asap to bring it back to being 2 xpacs ago for mog/mount farmers.

I know that I have room to improve. I also know that talk is cheap.

Talk has always been cheap and everyone knows that. Doesn’t mean it’s not fun to bash an out of line elitist that isn’t accomplished.

This is what we’re dealing with when talking to you:

Yeah no, that’s not what the dunning kruger effect is. Imagine referencing it directly and still getting it wrong lol. You and sosari, please work on reading comprehension it’s really hard to engage.

I’ll clarify too since you’re so confused about where I am coming from and where I stand in my beliefs. I know where my current ability level is, and I am playing at it. I am improving every day I play gradually. What you think you got me with, is where I believe I will end up. That is my “potential”. Dunning kruger relates to the perception of one’s ability, not their perceived potential. Their current perceived level of ability.

Get it right before you try to get me with something psychological.

If anything, I am a high performer by the dunning kruger effect. But you’d have to have better reading comprehension to grasp that.

LFR is a mog run, not somekind of place where you farm for ilvl gear, if you really cared increasing your ilvl, you would form an M+0 group or even just M+2, not care in the world and just spam it for loot. But nooo, its the people who come in overgeared which actually carries the fights doing x10 times the damage of your kind and knows mechanics, they are probably more entitled to T-mog than you are with your small ilvl increase, which is replaced in an hour if you did Mythic dungeon.

You want an example?

I have moved past the notion of class mechanics/combos being necessary or not.

They are things that I have, why on earth would I not use them?

Transmog is my endgame. Being pretty is how I win. You hitting harder, or healing more, or living longer doesn’t make you any prettier.

That’s a shift in perspective.

(yes i know that was probably auto-correct, but the joke was there)

Because they have a resource cost and talent cost? Everything is a tradeoff. Some combos and mechanics feel and sound really cool on paper but in reality it is just waste.

I am able to adapt, so if it becomes necessary I will implement it. Currently it’s not and it hurts my essence pool a lot to spread that much echo. Probably what you people do is use temporal anomaly with echo talent to use that combo, but temporal anomaly is not a playstyle I want to use. Nor is it necessary.

If it’s necessary eventually, I will freely change my talents and utilize it. You act like everything in this life is set in stone, and maybe for you it is.

Also, by dunning kruger, you are the one who is overstating your ability with what you just said lol. This is what dunning kruger really means. You acting like your example of your own state of ability has meaning.

Switched from the PC to the phone. Autocorrect is a… challenge.

the real funny part about all these loot arguments is the fact that people are so addicted to loot no matter what loot system we have people still gonna throw a fit. btw op we had personal loot in shadowlands and all the casual and solo players quit then alot anyway. and i kind of imagine alot of them never even came back for df. listen to the forums they will tell you dragonflight didn’t sell for crap.

Higher ilvl doesn’t automatically mean better. Take me for example, I have an 405 and a 395 ilvl rings. Yet the ring of the first boss (385 ilvl) is about a 500 DPS upgrade due to it’s effect. So you can bet your rear end that I will be running that boss and rolling need upon said ring until I final get it from any of the raid tiers.

Your paycheck is guaranteed, loot is not.

Imagine going to work, doing the work of 2/3/4 others and not being eligible to get paid because your coworker thinks you don’t deserve it.

Blizzard disagrees which is why they are making the NEED roll dependent on you not already having an equal or higher ilvl version of the gear.

May I suggest you give FFXIV a try if your end game is “pretty”.

Pretty sure they said “tier” items, not just loot in general.

Thats correct, but it’s an indication of the direction they’re going

How is losing rolls to geared players any different than losing rolls to other undergeared players? You’re still losing those rolls.

We will have to wait and see but at this point it will only be tier set items.
