New heirlooms in SL will be common quality. Fully upgraded heirlooms will be epic quality. Half a wow token can fully upgrade a set of heirlooms. XP buff on them is up at least a few more months and after SL drops they will still be more powerful than unupgraded heirlooms. More powerful gear is faster killing and less dying which is more xp/minute which is faster levelling any way you cut it.
Edit: PS> My BM Hunter’s PET tore Lord Stormsong down to 9k health while I feigned death so I could 1-shot him at the end. (Nothing in google worked and feign death kept the mind control off me.) I’m level cap and past heirlooms, but pretty sure my ilevel 440 did what ilevel 300 could not do. And I’m sure epic heirlooms will do what common heirlooms cannot do…
and even if you enchant them the now enchanted looms can be mailed cross realm since account bound.
Nifty little feature for looms you had a level 85 put enchants on. Why 85? because of ilvel scaling level 100 had some enchants not able to put on them anymore. So you do this at 85 in case you forget and next thing you ding’ed 100 and can’t.
Real easy this these days. WoD blows by off of bonus objectives really. In and out before you can even get the resources to do the basic garrison upgrade quest.
They took that out for awhile and I forget when they put it back in. I remember trying for it back in the day - even made a macro to a keybind to smash that would let me target and buy instantly from the fishing prizes vendor once I had what was needed. And I practiced the run from the innkeeper ot the fishing prize guy without bumping into anything. My understanding is 1st/2nd/3rd place people all show up within a nanosecond of each other all the time, and 99.99% of everyone else just gets all the consolation prizes.
Level 3 garrison with trading post and inn still worth having on one or two mains. And you just recruit random people with extreme scavenger off the inn. And whenever raw beast hide or another decent mat goes to 16gr at the trading post, you buy 600 on each toon with a garrison and sell for a coule thousand gold. WoD also has some worthwhile xmogs to grind and get from dwarven bunker or mission table tokens and dungeons. Oh yeah, apexis crystals off mission tables for and get a giant 2-headed fiery dogmonster mount and a corrupted dreadwing mount stuff… and the 3 heirloom rnigs off naval mission table… Captain title. I have a Captain Kirk blood elf… Falling asleep now!
True. I have one alliance alt busy as hell in WoD these days and works the garrison hard.
New toys, new mogs, lots of achievements. Even like the naval battles somewhat on the table.
Now for inscription that limited daily war paint crap can diaf really lol. I got that hut as high as I can get since the only viable way to get paint. 1 a day off crafting menu…sigh. Alchemy and engineering were much smoother ocd 100 closeouts. Not sure why they hated inscription here so much.
This makes little sense unless you’re talking about really low levels where everything is +1 point or something. But the gap should grow at higher levels. Maybe creeping in on the armor and dps values if not the fractions of stat points.
Seems to me Azerite armor has ilevel floating independently of rare/epic quality, and they just use rare to say 3 azerite traits and epic to say 5 azerite traits. And honestly, those traits more than make up for the power difference between them and heirlooms. I actually just toggle the chest/head/shoulder heirlooms on when coming out of a pet battle and doing quest turn-ins, and keep all the azerite on while trying not to not die to all the ranged trash shooting me from everywhere.
Also heirloom gear at level 120 is ilevel 300 while story quest and world drops top out at ilevel 266-280. You have to go to dungeons and professions and such at level cap to outperform heirloom gear. Though azerite armor and legendaries scaled to the same level outperform it, azerite doesn’t scale as you level, and legendaries stop at level 115.
Anyway, a $20 wow token would fully upgrade one set and leave op with a bunch of gold to spare. Heirlooms make for speedy nofuss levelling at low levels since no pauses to AH for manual upgrades, and have their uses in level 110-120. While I disagree with buying ZERO heirlooms for the 3-5 months before SL launch, I’d agree that OP should hold it to just upgrading one good set or possibly two if they have gold laying around.
Oh no, all my toons in that SS are on one account I only know it works this way because I made other accounts to get my Explorer’s League stuff and found that they all had my same mounts and pets. But I couldn’t use the pets if I had both accounts open (porting myself with a mage lol)
It should… but it does not. The only difference between them is a color these days. Azerite Armor though does do a 4 ring at blue and 5 ring at epic. A blue 410 and a purple 410 of the same item will be completely the same stats and armor.
