Necromancer as fourth spec for warlock

i’d rather see necromancers as their own class with their own class fantasy…blizz kinda missed the golden opportunity to introduce them slowly into the game via Shadowlands though.

anyway, i’d like to see them expand off the warcraft 3 Necros…but a touch of diablo wouldn’t hurt anyone either

Just in case somebody missed it in an earlier post - We have Unholy DK, so no Necro. Besides, it took all the way from Wrath to SL before we hit a new “death” related expansion and necromancers or a necromancer spec did not show up. Do not see much of a chance until “death 3.0” rolls around.

Which is exactly why you don’t make it.

We don’t need MORE of the same.

If you’re going to add to the class bloat that we started having with the introduction of DHs, then it needs to introduce something NEW. TOTALLY NEW.

Warlock tanks. Make it so.

The issue with Warlocks getting the Necromancer spec is that people ALWAYS try to reference Death Knights as being that necromancer spec. But death knights are no where near a true Necromancer. if you ask me Blizz did a poor job trying to make death knights into necromancers. But that is my opinion.

No, i play a warlock because i like playing a ranged caster.
What they dont have however is a healing spec. So its not more of the same. Its a different role that works along side the classes playstyle instead of trying to shoehorn in something that does not fit.

As much fun as I’m having playing one in D4 I think the unholy DK takes this role.

I’d rather get a true Necromancer class. Pull some inspiration from the Diablo franchise’s take on it and throw in a Blood Mage spec for a dark healer archetype. Draining life from their enemies to heal their allies type of healing. I don’t see it ever happening, but I can always dream.

And warlock tanks is not what we need. Make us into tanks so that all the other tanks can cry more cause we are doing it better then them while in cloth. No thanks. Not trying to hear more crying in this game. There is enough as it is. And Blizzard being innovative and not making the same is not going to work either. When Blizzard decided to give EVERY class a way to regenerate life back cause warlocks had life drain the game ceased to be different in class distinction.

I think warlocks should get a tank spec before they get a heal spec. It’s time to get a cloth tank. Need a mail tank, as well. Looking at you, shaman.

But how would they actually be different…gameplay wise?

They are 100x more necromancer than warlocks.

But the Diablo take on it, is basically warlock.

What you’re asking for would be to similar to what Demo is currently. They already have the summoner spec. Let alone UH DK’s actually being necromancers.

They could just make zombie glyphs for their demons and bam!

Necrolock.

No they are not. Thats like saying a worgen is the exact same as a werewolf. You probably think it is. And you people also say that the Death Knights are the vampires.

I’m already sick of the can of worms this spec has unleashed. It’s either speculation about fourth specs or speculation about bards.

I think it’s a terrible, ill-devised idea, I hate the obsession with tacking it onto one of my favorite classes, and I hope it never comes to pass. Warlocks command demons, not the undead, and that’s been consistent for the last two decades. I place necromancer warlocks with Void paladins and Dark Ranger rogues on the list of fourth spec ideas that don’t work because they’re completely outside of the class’s existing theme.

I doubt necromancers are unique enough to warrant being their own class at this point without necessitating an Unholy DK redesign, but they have no business being a part of warlocks, either. There are no themes of undeath with current warlocks. And the “let them reskin their demons into undead” argument seems less likely to become a reality than ever now that Blizzard is taking the observer model from warlocks to keep the felhunter silhouette consistent (why they do that but let sayaad keep access to the shivarra model, I’ll never know).
