NE genocide didn't happen - Redshirt Guy

I guess, if you look at Zandalar and Kul Tiras from a purely levelling point of view, I can see why. They aren’t directly related and it might be confusing to have these events mentioned without ever seeing them.

It just feels… I dunno, wrong to not mention the catalyst as to why we go to Zandalar and KT.

When they get into the game and read the rest of the story

Where?
The Horde leadership barely mentions Teldrassil. If at all.

Its one of the main complaints about the Horde after the burning.

It’s the premise for the war that leads up to why Sylvanas abandoned the Horde for shadowlands. It is the reason for Tyrande’s current arc.

I know we’re eyeballs deep in lore rage here, but this is just done to simplify things for new players, not to remove a big piece of lore that the current game rests on.

It’s a bit of a big event to not mention, especially how recently it happened. Or how much of it is tied to the BFA opening cinematic.

They literally do in every single bit of 8.1 content to 8.2.5

Maybe they’ll just pretend Teldrassil never happened.

“The Night Elves never had a faction hub, we’ve stated capitals are a waste of resources, why would we build on in the first place?”

The time for Teldrassil deniers is now.

Ok but when exactly is the Horde player exposed to it in their leveling?
They barely mention it in BFA.

If you skip the darkshore warfront you wouldn’t even know it existed.

We arent in bfa anymore, we are in shadowlands

On one hand I’m sorta happy they’re sweeping it under the rug but at the same time I’m essentially pissed that I still remember and lived through it, along with having to be there for the backlash so many horde players got non stop

I feel bad for you when you get to shadowlands content

This is ridiculous.

Instead of going backwards and finding silly explanation for silly description, wouldn’t it be easier to just change description back to what it was?

New players have to do 10 to 50 in BFA content.

Not a lot but the entire of story of BFA - the Saurfang stuff, war campaign, Old Solider, the Thrall one, and Reckoning - will be missing a hole without the spark that set everything ablaze, pun unintended.

yeah and if they do saurfangs quest or anything like they’ll know what happened
the point is not to overwhelm NEW players with a massive ton of info they they wont have time to care about.

Yeah that my point. Without the opening act and the fact that most of BFA the Horde questing treated Teldrassil like the elephant in the room no one talked about.

If anyone comes without any context I doubt they would even understand why Teldrassil gets brought up by the Alliance sometimes.

Lol no they wouldn’t.
And its not a massive amount of info.

The Horde attacked and killed a lot of people. Thats all lol.

I totally CALLED IT. I knew Blizzard would realize they used a word that’s associated with a lot of pain too lightly for cheap drama, and thus sweep it under the rug. I expect Anduin to follow suit in lore, and this “revision” used to justify whatever happens in Tyrande’s story.

They have to cheapen the night elven loss to explain the mediocre results of the quest. So night elf fans I hope you are ready for yet another case no closure or satisfaction! Just another day of being the Alliance’s designated victim to get stuffed into the fridge so the crowd of self-righteous buffoons can have their moral indignation for a faction conflict!

I can’t wait for more Teldrassil denial revisions! I couldn’t get more smug.

yeah and why would a new player care about lorderan, or teld, they dont even know what the alliance and horde is

Remember continuity is just too much work.

There’s been hints at Horde members being delusional for awhile now. Rexxar talking about how much blood Proudmoore has spilled, talking up how amazing Baine is and the best of the Horde. I guess flat out denying any shameful actions the Horde committed would be the logical end point.
