So I’ve been thinking about the possibility of leveling a NE or Dwarf hunter in the human zones. I’ve been tossing around the negative aspects of doing this and wanted to make sure I get all of my bases covered.
I think the best way to do this is by getting to level 10 in the normal starting zone and getting the tame beast quest completed. Then run to Westfall. After that I think the only downside is that quest rewards in those zones are not necessarily made for your class, which doesn’t bother me much. Also, reputation goes to Stormwind.
Am I missing anything here?
Dwarve would be easier than nelf for that since the tram takes you right to sw. nelf has to do the nude wetlands run lol

There is no tame beast quest in Elwynn Forest, you would have to go back to the Night Elf or Dwarf zone for that.
I’d just check where hunter trainers are. I’ve never leveled one, but with no human hunters the most convenient one might be in IF.
Stay in Darkshore for a while. Less people to fight for natural and quest resources. Most will want to make the death run to Westfall. Should be easier playing in Darkshore at the start. Then when you get to 16 or so, then maybe make that run to Westfall, to get into some dungeon action also.
But, then there is Ashenvale. That could also be easy questing, and get you well into your 20’s with little competition than the rest of us.
I’ve really never cared for the NE class myself, or I would do it.
I will be running from Dun Morogh to Elwynn at level 1. I know that isn’t as daring as your run will be, but I sympathize. I am worried about the fact that I will need to grind 10 more gold for my level 40 mount than the other players that will be honored with their own faction, but Elwynn just flows too well for me to want to level up anywhere else.
There is a Hunter trainer in Stormwind. Its in the Dwarf district.
Yes in the park. But you get portal to Moonglade at 10 too and can train there

My Dwarf Hunter will be running to the Night Elf starting zone actually. Day 1.

Just make sure you don’t care about riding a cat. I’ve leveled NE alts in Westfall etc a few times. I just don’t like the options after Ashenvale.

You can graveyard skip wetlands entirely.
Also, going by statistics, Nelf starting area should be slightly better than dwarf/gnome, due to populations. How this pans out once live will remain to be seen, it goes off previous data.
They actually fixed that. You cannot rez in Dun Morogh anymore. This was a private server thing. It was available back in 2005 but they patched it. Now you have to run thru Wetlands. I tested this during the stress test.
Good to know. Personally there is no reason to rush to SW as a Nelf, you can do some quests in Dark Shore 10-X.
Actually this still worked in the stress test. There is a specific spot you have to drown in and it will allow you to rez in Dun Morogh
Interesting! I do not doubt it, because when I used to do it back in '05 and on pservers, I didn’t care where I died, as long as I knew I was in Dun Morogh.
Thank you everyone for your input. I think I will run to westfall after level 10-15 so I can enjoy Westfall and Duskwood leveling! That tame beast quest is a doozy.

I thought so, I believe I used it on one of my tests but I also did some other server tests and wasn’t clear in my head on which I was remembering.
there is a trainer in SW just to the right of the entrance to the tram
I hate classic Westfall… It might as well be Tanaris with all of those quests spread out like peanut butter.
as you are going into the tram tunnel, left if you are exiting
Just a bunch of Dwarves!
