NE/Dwarf Hunter Leveling in Elwynn/Westfall

But Old Blanchy’s alive again!

It may have been covered, but, WHY are you doing this? For the mount?

I hate the gnome mount. Hate isn’t a strong enough word.

I put my gnomes on tigers. I’ve found the best way to do it is to start at lvl1, and work your way up. You’re almost guaranteed to get every starting quest, without missing any, and skipping long lists of quests that you have to look up and check off.

Playing a gnome following the NE questline, I’m easily able to get enough rep for the lvl40 mount. The rep grind for the purple mount is a lot simpler.

It’s really nothing to run back to your trainer in the dwarf zone for the hunter taming quest, then go right back. It’s just the time to walk to SW, take the tram, and walk to the trainer. There’s no way you can be concerned with a speed power-leveling issue, otherwise, you wouldn’t walk your toon all the way to a new area.

And yes, I will be one of the piles of bones in the Wetlands on opening day.

Gnome mounts have the lowest clearance. Have you ever had to play Tauren on mounts? Blizzard NEVER thought about how annoying it would be to deal with places like Undercity or small doors back in vanilla.

That’s some Alice in Wonderland crap right there.

I was a Human Paladin in vanilla and I want to relive the leveling zones nostalgia with a hunter instead. We all know the shortcomings of paladins. I also prefer horses to tigers and am a stormwind geek. Not to mention my friends are all meeting in westfall at level 10 or 11 to group quest/farm and do deadmines.

I may end up just playing a rogue instead of dealing with the trouble!

It really depends. If you want to move to Elwynn so you can do the Defias chain and get all the quests for Deadmines at level, then it makes sense.

If, however, you just want the reputation with SW so you can buy a horse mount…or if you just prefer the human zones…I’d quest and level through darkshore and get the Astranaar FP before going to Human territory as a NElf.

You can still get the reputation from every starting area quest, even the Northshire Abbey ones if they give rep…at a later level (and super fast).

After lvl10, it isn’t an issue. You’ll get quests from hunter trainers to go see trainer so-and-so for other class specific stuff, and you’ll find hunter trainers where all the other trainers are. It’s only one quest you’re worried about, and a quick and early one at that. I wouldn’t worry, take the tram from IF to SW @ lvl1

There is if you need to use the sword trainer. I will be playing a nelf rogue, so this will definitely be an issue for me. Maybe I can find a mage to give me a port to SW.

The topic is hunter which is what my responses were for.

Do hunters have to train for swords?

If you are a NE and make the run/swim to the human lands, just make sure you tap on all those flight masters so you can get back and forth for both training and leveling.

Night Elf will be the least popular of the alliance races this time around. Most guides and hardcore lists show that night elf has the worst racials pvp and pve. Also traditionally elywynn and westfall are some of the most iconic and popular areas (deadmines probably). Everyone is familar with those quests.

You’re better off leveling in the less traffic area. Also you get to PVP earlier than any other alliance race through ashenvale. Obviously level whichever area you like though.

You are in your OWN world. Hunters are not going to go to SW ONLY for the chance to train in swords, not in the low levels.

Muted cause you are just gonna keep on about your ROGUE in the thread about HUNTERS.

HUNTERS use SWORDS. The SWORD trainer is in SW. Some of the earliest weapon quest rewards in Teldrassil are SWORDS. Looks like NE hunters have plenty of reason to get that training as soon as possible, which means taking a trip to SW.

Go to the starting zone that you want the reputation for. You don’t need to actually play that race.
