It’s ONE item, not a whole set. It isn’t going to break the game.
That said I’d be happy with a 400 also but we’ll see what they do.

415 isn’t a high ilvl in 8.2.
Especially if the 'World Scaling" stuff keeps going, the new zone will probably be scaled with the idea in mind that people are at least 400 item level, since the rewards have slowly been scaling upwards for everyone.
Which means the new zone will probably be annoying as hell to get through if you’ve terrible RNG on weapons (Which I know alot of people have)
Honestly, it’s not the highest item level, weapons can’t titan forge (As I’ve been informed in this thread) which means the highest it could potentially get is 420, which isn’t that bad.
People makin’ mountains out of molehills.
If it was rewarding a 430+ item, I could totally understand it, as that’d be pretty close to the top., but 415 isn’t that big.
The new items will be 440 + … Jesus just let us get a 415 weapon… i dont have that much time to play but i still like to play this game after 15 years. It took months before i even got a weapon above 370 with all the RNG. This weapon will probably be the only one i’ll be getting for months while everyone else gets 440, which is fine cause you raid and do M+ for them. It’s fine that casual get something to prevent them from being so far behind that they couldnt even play the game to begin with. The scaling will probably be horrible in Naz’jatar so anything under 415 will probably hit mobs like pea shooters and wet noodles
I am more worried about item level inflation in general vs. a 415 piece. Blizzard is going to seriously need to stop this. An ilvl squish every 2 xpacs isn’t healthy for the game.
Erm… Some weapons do titanforge from certain sources, don’t they? I’m using a 420 titanforged dagger right now. You can see it on my armory…
Edit: Explained below. Never mind.
415 ain’t that big of a deal. Anyone who plays a moderate amount currently already has a full suite of 400 gear anyway due to the conquest points. Or if they completely ignore that casual gearing channel, they could have pretty much a heavy load of 395ish stuff from emissaries plus darkshore and others.
It’s only really fresh characters from people who barely play that aren’t at least 390+ilevel by now in every slot.
Heck, I’ve got 2 characters that hit 120 less than a month ago and they are already 399 from only conquest/darkshore/emissaries. Not a single dungeon, mythic or raid. And they’ve had pretty crappy luck on drops besides, like getting 5 ievel 400 helms while still rocking a 385 chest and so on…
People have been farming the first faceroll boss in mythic BoD in pugs since it came out, and that drops a weapon for basically half the raid. “Progression,” indeed.
LOL… 415 is pretty weak for 8.2. Of course, the OP is a level 100 so that’s srs business for him.
For some hybrid specs given the way weapons drop it is actually a godsend.
Warforge can be either +5 or +10, the TF label is for anything +15 or higher. So this weapon could go up to 425.
I’m not disagreeing on that. I’m just saying that the OP, a level 100, thinks it’s some gamebreaking thing when in actuality it’s going to be an LFR level weapon.
You’re literally getting free 930 gear from heroic upon raid release, it’ll be irrelevant fast. Either way, most peoples mains already have a weapon above 415 anyway.
With the way Blizzard has been trivializing gear and hosing every player down with items of ridiculous power for doing little more than logging in, I’m genuinely surprised this freebie weapon is only 415.
I don’t (this is my main this expac.)
Then again, I don’t log in much anymore on Twibi here. I haven’t even logged into Juju in months. Kind of playing my hunter.
Exactly. This one will get one weapon upgrade from this and maybe one from a WQ. Neither will likely have the stats I actually want.
You are part of the minority then, if you are only ~385 ilvl this late into the expansion, you either play extremely casually or just barely play at all.
What’s that you say?
I’ve been grinding M+ 10s and have yet to see a 415 weapon. I have a bag full of belts. I welcome this.
Yeah, I’ve become pretty casual since last expac. Not even sure why since I still love this game. I’ll be happy if I hit 400 ilvl this patch lol.
My personal opinion is: I do think that people that don’t raid at all should be getting higher than the current LFR tier gear is (maybe no higher than normal for Mythic+ gear). But I don’t expect Blizzard to change the system on my personal opinions on this. I may not raid anymore, but I also kind of agree that mostly solo artists shouldn’t be getting raid level gear. LFR is different since it still is technically raid content: the gear ilvl has mostly to do with this, it’s still technically a raid. Even though it’s considered “easy mode.”
HOWEVER:
I get why they have things set up as they do right now (though, yes, I will always voice my opinion on how PF should be set up).
I remember raiding and having the most horrible RNG on certain characters. I remember once when the Baron’s Mount dropped in a low level group and I rolled a 1 (I had been farming for it for a long, long while). I remember my hunter during ICC25m runs and never once- in the 26 weeks I did the danged thing- saw Saurfang’s trinket drop.
And that was with rolling against other players. I can just imagine what personal loot is like when you have bad RNG.
Again: there’s a good reason WQ’s, emissaries, and even this quest drop the ilvl’s of gear they do.
I guess I should get my alts ready to be 415 with Nazjatar release, looking like a good time to do so.
