This is great because it encourages players with more gear to help out new players on their fresh 80’s, this is a win win overall.
On top of that if you plan on having multiple alts you have a chance to get a fire mount on each character.

Just saw this post - Frankly I am a little disappointed with this change personally.
I can see the argument for alts or main switching etc. But honestly a big draw to classic for many people is that it isn’t retail where everyone can get everything eventually.
I didn’t play in vanilla but I saw people with Battle Tanks. I started in BC but wasn’t skilled enough to get the Hand of Adal title. In wrath I did not get immortal and that was a turning point that got me into hard core raiding.
I have Deaths Demise and Grand Crusader in retail and I’ve love to have them in classic. But frankly I am at a place in my life I can’t invest in that level of commitment. But at the same time I don’t want to see those that do have their achievement in the game belittled.
Sure there are dates on achievements, sure you might want to change mains, yeah you might start too late to get a shot at x mounts or x titles. The flavor of having things in the game that are skill-gated or time-gated gives players opportunities to make their characters unique. Such Titles/Mounts/Achievements are fleeting as it is and I would hate to see more of them removed. If anything I would like to see more added or at least gated in a way that keeps the skill requirements the same. Eg. Herald of the Titans. Give me as the player a goal I an work-toward that wont just be handed to me by waiting for another patch or expansion.
Not looking to start a fight or flame anyone just expressing my disappointment in this direction for the game.

OFC this is definitely whats gonna happen… youre not gonna see some extremely strict group making looking for undying or immortal runs that will not take any lower geared toons because they are affraid of someone messing up.
were you not there 15 years ago ? when people were requesting 5.2k gs+ to run a naxx 25 ? blizz eventualy banned the GS addon because it was causing too much toxic behaviours

I think they should keep ZG 20man in the game with Cata, so people can keep getting the mounts. Oh and re-add 60 naxx and atiesh too. Oh and the black qiraji mount too!

Algalon ilvl titles stayed in the game for a long time but they required people to at least wear the same gear to when the content was current.
Might make sense to have a similar requirement?
Regardless… pretty sure this could have been announced months ago or at the launch of wrath.

they should add an ilvl requirement to the achievement, and i think it would make everyone happy.

Scarab Lord is 1000x more of an achievement than WOTLK Naxx meta rofl. GTFOH

If you were on Skeram or Sulfuras sure. You had 1 week to do it, most realms had 2-3 weeks.

Yes; every casual dad gamer andy has the meta achievements, very very few people have scarab lord.
mostly due to server monopolies, just like rank 14 was until the bracket boosting.
On Skeram, if you werent in onslaught you did not hit rank 14 until generation 4 of HWL.
Excuses dont make it not true and organizing crime and collusion in order to be one of the very few to achieve scarab lord requires way more effort than 3 drake or 6 min maly
Yes, getting people banned for farming HWL or scarab lord is indeed high effort.
