what a well thoughtout reply. Can you elaborate on that ?
Nobody is running the wg pvp helm for prot Paladin.
It only has hit on it.
No block value, no expertise, no avoidance.
It’s worse than a heroic blue or crafted boe.
“only hit”
The crafted one has what? Less crit immunity, a few unneeded defensive stats due to defrating, a little more stamina.
Oh and before you rage on that, let me clearly explain a simple truth:
Whenever a tank is easily healable in the current content he has to tank, any more defensive gear is outright unnecessary, and does not help the tank to furfill his purpose.
The purpose of a tank are:
- Survive
- Aggro
If 1 is checked out, everything else you want to do is improve 2 as much as possible.
There are A LOT of people that seem to get off on having really high healthpools or other unnecessary stats, without realizing that this gives their raid nothing at all.
Why would i need expertise on my helmet ? Getting expertise cap on protpally is not really hard, you know that right ? since you can get 16/26 from talents and glyphs…
But good job showing that you´ve got no clue about protpallys.
Or generelly have no clue, since you seem to be under the impression that hit is useless for prot pallys, which is pretty close to the most ridiculous and stupid thing ive ever read.
Hit is incredibly easy to obtain as a prot Paladin.
Expertise cap for tanks is not 26. 26 is soft cap aka dodge cap. 56 is parry cap.
Tanks want over 26.
Block value buffs shield of the righteous which is mega damage and mega threat.
Avoidance means blocking, dodging or parrying. Any damage avoided is a heal not needed to be casted. If a healer doesn’t need to heal, they can cast a dps spell to kill the boss quicker. This is what good raiders do.
You might want to go read a guide before you rage like a child on the forums because somebody told you that your wrong.
This is hilarious
I think as long as you’re hit capped and in at least heroic blues you’re going to be fine as long as you know the fights. BIS is overkill.
It’s not a arguement of bis, it’s a arguement of knowing why something is good and why something is bad.
He says high health pools are unnecessary, tanks should always strive for the biggest health pool without sacrificing avoidance. Why would I want a tank with only 5k more than a dps?
Either way I think most people are overthinking gear for Naxx. As long as you’re hitting the DPS checks and nobody is dying in stupid ways, sensible gear and fight knowledge should take you far.
