There’s “I’m not going to lick your boots for past accomplishments” and there’s “My only personality trait is hating everyone who isn’t Sylvanas”.
They flanderized him from his previous self who was altogether grouchy but came to respect you when you proved your mettle, changing him into an insufferable toolbag who actively scorns you even after you’ve proven yourself.
Apparently he has more neutral voice lines in some WQs if you lick Sylvanas’ boots like him. Couldn’t be me.

I tried to get a new body from them. One of those muscled up ladies with thighs that look like they could crack walnuts. I even offer them my favorite spare hand, the one with the almond shaped nails. They said no, so I still look like this!

I’ve heard that the Cosmology slop predated him, and he just got stuck with it and Shadowlands already ready to hatch.
But he’s definitely the self-insert Nathanos guy, and that was massively lame.
I see people say this a lot. But like, how so? Doesn’t look like him, doesn’t act like him. Is Danuser a master archer at least?

Nah. Danuser wore his facial hair as a goatee with some scruff on his cheeks. Not a full beard.
It’s the facial hair he wants to have.
And probably the head hair he wishes he had.
The fact it’s a barely passing resemblance at best lends credence to it being a self-insert.

Not necessarily a self-insert, just a case of someone being obsessed with a character and being like “hey, the fandom loves Sylvanas, let’s make that canon in-universe too!” Because much like Saurfang, she was respected in universe but not worshiped the way the weirder portion of the fanbase does.
That feels like a hell of a reach though. I dunno, I just always figured there must be more to it than that since people say it so often.
