Nathanos pre patch cinematic (spoilers)

I know its owed to the NE fanbase to get this kill, but my god man.

Can we get a nice cutscene of a Horde hero actually accomplishing something? Doing something cool that has little to no repercussion on us later?

I’m fine with the mocking, but is it too much for the guy to be more in pain? That or Tyrande to somehow deny him what he wants?

I’m a Nathanos fan. I think he’s a great character. But tbh, if not for my trope sense flaring that he’d be a dungeon boss who wakes up, smells the kibble, and realizes Sylvanas is off her rocker, my second thought was that Tyrande was going to have Maiev imprison him in fel crystals.

Gotta say; not impressed. He mocked her, showed 0 fear or anything towards her, stood his ground against the power of a literal god, and got exactly what he wanted. This was not a positive cinematic for Tyrande nor Night elves. Continues to make them and their story look like complete and utter trash.

Were… Were we watching the same cinematic? Tyrande straight up ragdolled his *** with little effort.

I mean, we all knew he was going to reappear in Shadowlands. That said, those who think he was going to be accepted by Sylvanas… Yeah. He failed her in a very big way by failing to kill Bwonsamdi in Shadows Rising, especially since Bwon seems to be taking top Death Loa status away from Mueh’zala, this could be an even larger failure. And we all know Sylvanas doesn’t like failure. She could toss him into the Maw out of sheer spite at this point for all we know.

The only time I can think of is against like “Honorable enemies” and we did the only thing that would actually get them to come out and fight us. (I.E steal their allies from them, dishonor their name etc.)

Wasn’t most of Wrath about screwing Arthas over? Along with WoD?

You know he’d probably be fearful if the one killing him was an enemy known for stealing your soul after they kill you or using it for fuel (Arthas, Guldan)

Fellow night elf players… seriously, relax. I consider this a win for us.

• Nathanos was gutted and beheaded, he didn’t need to go out in an over- the-top brutal way, which is not in character even for NW Tyrande.

• Tyrande was great in the fight scene, you can pause the scenes and she moves like a dancing demon hunter. (Reminds me of Japanese martial styles)

• Tyrande got the answers she wanted from Nathanos and silenced him before he completed his talk.
  It is expected that Nathanos make snarky comments- that’s who he is, but she still got her way.

• Nathanos failed Sylvanas and the Jailer and probably won’t have a good welcome in the Maw.

Take this win, it is a clear one.

Yes, nathanos will be in the shadowlands, but i assume there is some disavantage in going there as a anima filled soul instead of being alive and well.

It’s about the only good takeaway from this I suppose. But we’ll see. Chances are he won’t even show up again. But if he does, I look forward to making him finally suffer.

“Screwing over arthas” Again I don’t think we’ve ever gone out of our way to make sure or enemy experiences the worst possible defeat, we just normally ruin their plans so we can kill them.

I said this in discord and i’ll say it here If you all REALLY wanted Nathanos to suffer/ deny him what he’s okay with, blizzard should of just had someone take him into the cell that illidan was in for 10k years that prevented him from dying no matter how hard he tried, because the magic of the cell would sustain him.

my bet is honestly, he is going to get tortured by the jailer for repeated failures. With sylvanas being slightly indifferent. By his final appearance, he is only a shred of his original self. More of that one blackrock orc that served garrosh malkorok or something.

I liked it but I wish I loved it. We finally got to see Tyrande use her hand to hand combat skills, and she took Nathanos out with no effort. I was hoping for a bit more of a power display, but I there is power in subtilty. I still hate the 4d chess thing because she knew that he would be back, but we expected this. The "For Teldrasill " line is chilling. She’s not happy with the kill and still sad and angry, and will never over what happened, you can hear it in her voice. This was no victory for her…not yet.
