I guess that is fair. But it makes it far less satisfying to see him die. I can only hope we get the opportunity one day.
Youāre missing the point. A goal was set by many posters for Tyrande vs Nathanos. They wanted her to handily win in the fight to showcase how powerful the Night Warrior was. That has happened in the pre-patch.
Now winning a fight with Nathanos without breaking a sweat is no longer the goal. Now the goal has moved to wanting her to win handily, have Nathanos not be himself and then weep and die.
It will never be enough for some people.
At least you got some small measure of satisfaction out of this expansion, then.
Except he says it himself, we are just sending him right back to Sylvanas. That isnāt really dead now is it? That is my issue. He gets exactly what he wants.
Which was always going to happen if the end result was killing him which was apparently what everyone wanted.
So instead we should have justā¦kept him alive then? So he could sneer and smirk at Tyrande as she led him away in chains?
Are we really going to pretend people would have liked that?
Iām confused.
When someone dies, they go to the Shadowlands.
Sylvanas is in the Shadowlands.
What did people honestly think was going to happen when Nathanos died?
I would have taken obliterating his soul so he couldnāt have returned to Shadowlands with Eluneās power. That or you know killing him at Darkshore so it could have been foreshadowing to Shadowlands that he would be fine with dying there.
Does it really count as bfa when itās the prepatch? In any case, I hope thereās more where that came from, but with a bit more despair and broken plans.
There you go with that pesky little hope again. You should wallow in despair with the rest of us. Itās warm down here.
When has that been shown or stated to be part of the Night Warriorās repertoire?
Nah. Got too much anger. Crowds out all the despair.
I will give you it never has been. I just wish there was something that could have been done to prevent him from returning to Sylvanas. I would also accept him taken as prisoner but then there would inevitably be a āsomeone breaks him freeā storyline.
Again my biggest issue is this should have happened at Darkshore. It feels kind of out of place now.
:\ true I guess.
Do what Gulādan did and disenchant his soul?
I can agree with that. Part of why Darkshore was so poorly received was it made this Night Warrior thingy seem like no real power-up. Tyrande was already powerful to begin with, if they replaced her with some average nelf it would have looked like a significant power up.
You behead Kael in MGT, yet his body still has his head attached.
IIRC, his head was stolen so they could revive him.
I donāt think it was ever.
The only case I can recall of a villain getting their head chopped off and coming back from the dead due to their head being stolen was Baron Rivendare. Where Inigo Montoy betrayed the Argent Dawn and brought Kelāthuzads Phylactery (and most likely along with Rivendareās head) to Arthas.
Since Nathanos was in someone elseās body, is his soul going to be represented by his old body in the Shadowlands?
Probably not. They put too much effort in that model to simply toss it away.
The way they have been doing the Tyrande and Volājin quests with both sides having to do them, if they set it up where nathanos has to be ārescuedā they will likely set it up for both sides to do (and likely lock the story progression behind it so it canāt be avoided).
