just killed him, got a piece for Survival Hunter despite a) not being a survival hunter and b) my loot spec being set to BM - why is the loot from Nathanos ignoring loot spec

The same thing happened to me. I’ve just killed him and I got Survival Hunter loot in the same scenario, playing as BM and loot specialization set to BM.
It is not only ignoring the loot spec but also ignoring the current spec.

My Arms Warrior got a 1 handed sword. My Arms Warrior does have a Fury offspec, but I go for the dual wielding 2h aesthetic.

I also got the survival polearm as a BM hunter loot spec BM. The WQ even showed a bow as the reward. Really annoyed!

This seems to have been fixed for the most part. My alts started getting listed for a cache instead of a specific item, and now they’re getting items based on their loot specs. Not retroactively fixed though - which is disappointing.
at least you guys got loot. =(
So, after turning in quest, I turned warmode off and went back out to the zone and killed nathan again and got a WQ reward.

Got a 1H Int sword on my Ret paladin.
Got a response to my ticket that spec/loot spec doesn’t affect world quests, that it’s more related boss drops, and that the world quest is working as intended and I’m SOL.
Do world quests usually bait and switch though? That’s what happened to me, as it said I’d get one thing and got another. Got the loot spec appropriate gear on my alts (after it seemed to have been changed to an equipment cache instead of a random weapon).
