Nathanos takes less then 10 60’s to kill, not really sure what this outrage is about when it’s not a raid boss or anything special at all, it’s just an elite quest mob that for some reason says group on the quest when it’s alot easier then the quests saying group makes it seem.
Vanilla was easy compared to everything that came after it. Why people can’t accept that they were just new to the game and had no idea what they were doing back when they played it is beyond me.
The numbers are accurate.
I think you’re misremembering, Nathanos never took an entire raid group to kill on his own. The only reason a raid was sometimes required because Horde would defend him. It’s not at all surprising that a group of 80 or so 40s killed him.
He’s a standard elite quest giver. He’s not a City Leader…
Yup, they have done everything they can to deliver the most easiest version of classic possible.
He’s hardly a “boss”, he’s an elite quest NPC, but these were warriors with 2k+ hp. Nathanos never did that much damage.
I think you’d be surprised how much damage a free-shotting BiS level 40 hunter will do.
If you got a raid to kill him, sure. People didn’t get full raids of level 60s to kill him unless there were a lot of Horde protecting because that’s completely overkill. I’m not sure why people are overestimating Nathanos so much. Compare his HP to any raid or dungeon boss. He’s trivial.
Not gonna lie though, i have no idea who Nanthanos is.
Horde questgiver in EPL, and also the target of an Alliance quest for fresh level 60s to kill him. He was a fan-favorite amongst Horde because he was funny and would be snarky to the player, so they would often rush to defend him. He became a much more major character in Legion/BfA.
raid a faction capital?
So apart from less health and damage, as well as a higher chance to get dodged, why is this so far fetched to you?
They created a raid compliment of the combined power of what a 60 raid compliment would be.
It’s important to remember scale. Depending on class we are looking at an average of a couple hundred dps difference for a lower level and a lvl 60 with reasonable gear (not accommodating for hit chance).
There isn’t the huge gap of 25k dps between a max level player and someone 10-20 levels lower like there is today.
Having 70 people dramatically over compensates for the lost damage etc I would assume.
Ah. Now it makes sense why I’ve never heard of him.
by 80 people, yes, it’s possible.
Probably because Nathanos spent the whole time RPing and insulting everyone.
Retail players who think levels are the only thing that determine victory LUL I guess level 1s never raided Hogger and level 20 F2P players never beat level 40+ players at the Gurubashi chest in Legion/BfA even with how often abilities whiff.
Not at all. Could never happen. Naw.
They’re using 1.12; it’s the most nerfed state of the game man. What were you expecting when playing a game with the Player classes turned up to Max with the NPC’s nerfed into the dirt?
By the end of Vanilla when I leveled up my alts we were 5 manning him in World PUG’s because that’s how gimp all the NPC’s became as a result of the following.
- Talent trees
- Player character abilities.
- Gear itemization buffs to the N’th degree
- Direct nerfs to NPC’s in World, Dungeons and Raid.
A single raid of 40 level 39’s should be able to kill him easily, he’s just a minor world boss, not a true raid boss.
The fact that they needed not 1 but TWO raid’s of level 40 characters is a testament to how badly they suck.
Now I would actually be semi impressed if they can attack and kill the AV vendors, but I don’t think those are in the BETA right now…
Those guys would literally 2 shot fresh 60’s.
Translation?
Confirmed: hunter master pvp race in classic
“Again so what will a raid full of 60s do? This guy use to drop full raids of level 60s and 40s downed him”
No no see, we were just terrible in vanilla! And our memories are failing us! Something something rose colored glasses…
Lol, what a joke.
They don’t have the data though.
