/run SetCVar("nameplateMaxDistance", "6e1")
Makes me so sad. Now i cant see mob health frame unless I’m super close to them. just silly when you’re a range class. Was anyone else using this?

It never made it to live launch. Distance has been 20 yards since day 1. It does suck for range just something to get used to.
Yes dude I was just using it for a while (friends were too), I have comparison shots too that I could post if you want.
We knew it was a bug, because they fixed it in beta. Somehow it turned back up after launch though. Sucks, but not unexpected.
I guess it’s a little overpowered in some ways. But damn, at least make it more than like, 20yards.
Same have been running /run SetCVar(“nameplateMaxDistance”, “3.5e1”) For about a week now. Just hot fixed tonight. The fix they applied at launch fixed /run SetCVar(“nameplateMaxDistance”, 60) They missed patching the Exponential. Which still worked.
Oh, so that’s what the update was about 0.0
Ok that explains it.
I guess it’s an important part of people learning to process data to make correct decisions for them not to have data to process.
Cool, can they fix actual game breaking bugs like feign death delay and dead zone’s extra range that weren’t in vanilla?
The CVar was technically write protected / secure meaning we were never meant to be able to set it to any value at all.
So it was be expected that at some stage the workaround to use scientific notation would of been patched. It was only a matter of time.
I honestly don’t see the big deal. I adjusted to it very quickly.
Recently I changed the camera settings to allow further zoom back. And I always tab as I run along so that I am immediately alerted to any presence.
Edit: also, it forces me to heighten my sense of awareness. I can’t just slog along without paying attention to my surroundings. It creates a greater sense of danger.
The only thing I haven’t been able to adjust to is ‘You must be standing to complete this action.’ I still can’t get that through my head!
It’s an absolute joke playing with 20 yards is actually making me want to reroll off caster and go melee… we had addons that increased nameplate in vanilla I can post proof, why not cap it at 40 yards for range players? makes no sense…
RIP What a joke at least make it so its 40 yards so you can cast spells and see the nameplates at least
I agree 40 yards is max distance anyways for those Hunters and 35 yards for Mages. I believe they should increase the max distance for Nameplates to 40 but give us the option to do what We want on our own UI
unnecessary, there’s a reason no ones uses default 20yards.
Change this back immediately.
Are we playing the same game? I’ve never had trouble seeing my damage and I always use frostbolt at max distance.
Am I missing something here?
This actually makes me very sad to play any caster now
Time to download that HUD addon.
