Ok I need answers I tried blizzard customer support and all they gave me was mumble jumble so this is the topic. The problem I bought a race change. I changed my race. I changed the name, but I didn’t like the name so an hour or two hour later, I bought a a name change I changed it excepted, but it went back to my original name how long does it take to go up to the name? I wanted to change this happened on Saturday and how do this gets fixed? Do I have to purchase another one if it doesn’t change or do I get my money back and a credit to change to change my name to what I want no one in blizzard and answer this question I’m very frustrated
Name changes are most of the time instant when applying, but if just purchased it, this could take up to 24 hours for the purchase to complete.
The purchasing and all that stuff went fine change my name was fine except everything, but it went back to the original name. Therefore, I feel that either I need to get another name changed on their dime to get this fixed or tell me why it’s not changed and no one seems to help me
Just to be clear, the name change that you purchased is still showing as “Complete” in your account history right?

I’m just wondering if it might have initially worked, but if the payment later failed, it would revert back. Just something to check on.
Additionally, where are you seeing the old name? Is it up-to-date when you log into the character? Or is it showing the old name there too?
It went back to the original name after I changed the first time through the race change and yes, the purchase went completely through. I have it showing through my bank that it’s been taken care of, so therefore that issue is taken care of the issue still remains is that I change the name it said complete and it went back to my original name so I feel I need to have a freebie if this doesn’t change or something, please somebody give me somebody that can help me on this
Okay, so you mention both purchases are showing as complete in your transaction history but you didn’t mention where you’re seeing the old name. I only ask as it can help with tracking down the issue.
Have you logged into the character in-game and then logged completely back out of it back to your desktop? Sometimes they need that nudge to take effect.

OK here it is again. I purchased a race change that purchase is complete. I change my race and I changed the name at the same time. I did not like the name I chose within two hours. I bought a name change I changed my name hit submit and it took the name. I wanted to change to, but it went back to my original name Before I changed the race so it’s been since Saturday midday when I changed this. It’s still showing my old name yes everything is complete. Everything transaction has been complete. Only thing that happened. It went from one name that I did not like to change it to the name I wanted, but it went back to the old name that I Had so I would like to know if I have to purchase a new name change or can they give me one so I can change it free of cost. This is very frustrating that no one can contact me. Everything has to do through forms and emails so I just need to know what I need to do, but yes, everything has been completed. Everything shows that they took their money, but the problem is it went back to the old name
They haven’t offered a call back service in many years now. I provided a link for putting in a ticket and you’ll need to use that.
Keep it simple such as:
I race changed and changed my name to NAME1
I didn’t like it so I purchased a name change to use and changed it to NAME2
Now it’s only showing NAME 1.
That is correct so I want to change from name one to a new name
Pearl is saying to put in a ticket like that - the forums, much less the CS forum - is a contact point. THe blues here can’t mix anything related to such.
You wanted NAME2, correct?
That you can ask via a ticket.
If you’re now looking for NAME3, you might need to purchase a another name change.
Out of curiosity, what character are we talking about? current name and realm.
So it’s probably never good to make lots of changes to your character in a short period of time. A lot of the changes are likely done through batch processes and while they will obviously attempt to keep them from stepping on each other, it can happen. Your description is a bit hard to determine the flow of events, and likely could have confused the support team.
Here is what I think happened, if this matches what happened you can probably submit it in a new ticket however do update the Name1, Name2, Name3 to be the actual names.
Purchased a Name change, and changed my characters name from Name2 to Name3. This appeared to work but reverted shortly after back to Name2. This could have happened due to the a name change being processed as the same time as a race change.
- You purchased a race change
- You updated your character and as part of this changed the name from name1 to name2
- It started processing the race change (You thought it finished)
- You decided you didn’t like the new name, name2
- You purchased a name change
- You updated the name on the character from name2 to name3
- The game reverted to back to name2 shortly after
Then ask them if they can revert your characters name back to the new name you selected Name3, or if not if its possible to refund the name change so you can purchase a new one and update the name a 2nd time.
The name and main name was Buckkeye
Then I did a race change, which changed the race and name the would be name change 1 did not like the name change 1 so I bought a name changer to change name 1 two a different name which will you be name number two it took and then all of a sudden it went back to Buckkeye and that is the original name
So the order was a race, change and name change
Then within two hours, I bought a name change, which is number two
Then I changed the name. It took it all, but went back to the old name so I would like to know how to get another name change without buying it because it did not take it the right way the first time.
You’ll need to open ticket then and ask for help.

I found my open ticket they closed it. I reopen it because the issue is still there. They did not resolve it and I’ll be very upset if I have to spend another $10 to change my name when it should’ve been done correctly the first time yes maybe part of it was my fault but still they should be able to resolve it without taking three days.
They probably didn’t understand the issue. You will need to submit a new ticket, and be more precise about what occurred, don’t put it in a paragraph since that makes it hard to see what actually occurredoccured instead create a bulleted timeline of the transactions, the changes you initiated, and the changes you witnessed.

You had 3 race changes very close together. 2 of the three, it looks like you did do a name change. The third one, the one in question, I’m not seeing that reflected.
I also see the name change you purchased.
In your ticket you stated the name you wanted was A****** C***** unless you want that all run together into one word, that can’t be done with our naming system. We don’t have first and last names in WoW. If that is what you put into the system (although I don’t think that should have actually taken), that may be the root of this issue. The system also doesn’t allow for punctuation, spaces or capital letters within a name.
