Hi, I started the process of swapping two of my character’s names. I’ve followed the A B C Steps to do this, but I’m now getting a message that the A character is on a service cooldown meaning I can’t change his name to one I wanted him to be.
I’m ok if this is just a 72-hour delay before another service can be applied but I’m concerned someone can take the name while it’s in limbo. Is that possible or do I need to take further steps? Thanks for your help.
Create a new character with the name and log into it once. That will prevent someone from getting the name. Delete that character when your cooldown is upn
- Other players on your realm will be unable to use your previous name for 90 days.
Your name will be locked for you to keep for 90 days before it unlocks to everyone to use on your server.
Sorry to bump this up, but I’m having trouble finding whether or not the 90 days also applies to deleted characters. Anyone know for sure?
I believe 30 days, if it’s at least level 30.
90 days only relates to names changed by character service
