Back when I was checking name availabilities a few days ago, I had a thought to go through the thread waaaaay back and see if there were names that had been freed up that people were looking for. For a lot of them, it’s true, but those players no longer played the game.

I did find one though and sent the player a mail in-game, saying that the name they would do anything for was available (their post being over a year old now). A day later I get a letter in the mail from that same person, their name now changed, and the joy they had was infectious <3 Shout out to Lily!

I appreciate the change of heart this thread has had since it wasn’t that long ago when this view was scorned.

That’s an interesting stance for Dusk to take when I asked him about Audrey and he’s selling it for 3 mil.

Which is fine, I’m also selling a name for 3 mil, but I don’t understand why they would be complaining about people selling names for a high price while at the same time doing it themselves.

And as I’m scrolling, I see things are getting more interesting. Not sure Thane is the bad guy here. Dusk literally told me a week ago that Audrey is 3 mil gold.

This dood just claimed that each of his character names is worth 4 million gold—LMFAO!!!

This thread should be removed, as it’s become an opportunity for people, including those who aren’t even part of MoonGuard like this guy, to make profit so they hoard a bunch of good names that would otherwise be taken by an active moonguard player.

This thread needs to be removed, or remake with a rule that names listed should be listed with a price and the price is cap at 400-500K

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I’m not my girlfriend. We can have differing opinions. Hope this helps! Also, I did not tell you that, because no one has inquired with me about her names. I have sent everyone to her.

Yeah, I also give names away for free to people. Matching energies, usually. If you wanna charge 3 mil for a name, then I’m going to ask the same.

You can’t force people to set their names to a specific cap. It’s honestly just personal preference.

I know I have a more radical view on this than most, but I think 500k should only be reserved for the most sought-after names. Anything more than 100k for 90% of the names posted on here is criminal imo.

Whatever. I just think it’s interesting that your boyfriend thinks 3 mil for a name is way too much but at the same time he’s going to support you by listing your names for 3 mil.

I can’t help but agree. They’re different people, of course, but if Dusk really doesn’t support names being sold for that much, they would be opposed to their partner doing it as well. Its really easy to get caught up in how much names seem to be going for in this thread, but if you were actually altruistic you would be opposed to everyone doing it.

Fwiw, if you want to buy a name for ~$300USD, thats your prerogative. But personally I think anything more than a token is insane and it really sucks that so many people seem to be name hoarding for the sake of some gold. Either you’re wanting to give more people interesting names or you aren’t.

Names are only worth what someone is willing to buy them for. 200k might be a ton for some and a drop in the bucket for others. I’ve never been in the business of selling names, as I’d rather conduct trades. That doesn’t make me better or lesser than anyone else in this thread. The scalpers and horders make themselves pretty obvious, especially the off-server ones. I’m petty enough to hope their posts get buried for being spam and their potential for profit plummets.

I dunno, I feel like I’m going dad mode and need to get out the Get Along shirt, but just making a casual reminder/hope for us MG residents to stay neighborly with one another. In the end, none of this matters. It’s just a game. It’s fictitious currency we’re talking about.

Can we go back to trading/selling/giving names please instead of spamming the thread with arguments on who should sell for what and where?
I mean… I guess ya’ll can keep at it if you want, I can’t stop you, but the thread is turning into a cluster-youknowwhat.

Its getting hard to look through the Wanted/Selling/Trading between all the bickering, and I dont really want to mute people just to be able to easily read the thread :C

I think people really took everything I said out of context. I don’t care what people do with their own names, and I was never going for anyone specific. Some people chose to get offended over a comment I said in regards to people coming to this thread from other servers. :broken_heart:

Some people took it personally that I have listed my GF’s names, despite not selling my own for the same prices, and not wanting to do so. (When names are what I consider above the ~150k-200k value, I always try to do 1:1 trades instead, with some very special exceptions.) We are not the same person, and me doing a favor for her does not mean our opinions align 1:1. Also, I’m not her boyfriend, I’m her girlfriend. :skull:

I do think we should probably put this sub-discussion to bed because some people are making it personal, and being rude for some reason. I’m all for discussing things, but I never called out anyone specifically, and some of you are trying to use my comment to attack others, and some of you are using it as an excuse to be rude to me.

Tl;dr: Do what you want, I can’t stop you. I just want us who actually play here to have access to cool names while having fun and trading them around. :tired_face:

This thread is built on trust. You have to trust people to release a name to you and not run off with your gold. I think discussing someone’s character in a thread built on trust is not a waste of time.

But I will say that I’m done discussing it since atm there’s nothing else to say.
