Anyone know if a name release is going to happen soon? I thought it usually happened in pre patch but nothing seems to have opened for me that I was keeping an eye on.

To stay relevant to the thread, I am selling “Chirp” on moon guard. It might have a cd I’m not sure.

It just happens when the bnet account has been inactive for four years.

And note I said “bnet”, not a specific WoW license, so someone playing D4 (for example) counts as an active bnet even if they have let their sub lapse for four years.

Still looking to offload a ton of names that would be good for Pandaren characters. No one’s reached out to me about any of them and I’m starting to hit the character cap for my account with all the remix characters I’ve leveled, so I’m just going to be giving them away for free. this makes it seem like they are released with the expansion launch, and not a certain period of time? unless I’m reading something wrong

That’s been my experience, yes. Names have historically been released around 2 weeks before an expansion launch. There are some names I have been monitoring for literal years that haven’t been freed up, so I can only assume the name release hasn’t happened yet or the owner has been active on BNET account within the last 4 years (estimate).
