Ive had this happen a few times :C I try to offer pretty low prices and then I see them later on afterwards being sold for a few million ;A; Its fine though, just is one of those “oh” moments.
Least it brings some sort of happiness to the buyer so I suppose it’s still a win.
Meh, I don’t mind this. They bought/traded for it, so they’re free to do whatever with it. Could just be that they did want the name, used it but ended up not wanting it later on so they’re looking for another name to use or gold to get back what they spent and giving someone a chance to have it as well.

Dr. Phil is way smarter than you. For one thing, he doesn’t say to someone “HURR DUURRR I BET UR 18” then when that person says “no, actually I’m in my 40s” he says “HURR DURR why do people tell others their age?!”

I’m pretty sure you can report players if they buy just to resell. It a form of dishonest service and gameplay in a game.

It’s an unsupported transaction as long as gold is used. I mean, you could use your thinking cap on this one. This thread has been up for how long? How many times do you think it’s been reported?
Can we just Flag/report both of these players to shut them up. Tovi needs to stop posting personal information in a wow forum. Pretty sure its against the rules and irrelevant to the OP. And Jarasum needs to stop posting because something upsets him. Take it up with blizzard, other players don’t care.

No one was scammed. I got the gold / name trade that I asked for and they got the name they paid for.
Much like other games, once the product leaves my hands, I have no say over what happens with it.
Ive seen players get banned for malicious trading. Like selling an item and getting less than requested for said item.
Pretty sure even using names (Personally word names i don’t care about like hopscotch or pattycake but lore names i do) it falls in the same category under Malicious Acts if the intent of one party of the trade is false or misleading.
If it’s so personal, tell me who I am.

It’s sad to see it go back for sale (especially for more), but oh well.
We both fulfilled the agreements to our transaction. I do not ask what they plan to use the names for. I hope its to make a character with, but in the end its none of my business.
Now, if we had made an agreement beforehand that they MUST use the name, then maybe you could report… But it is also an unsupported transaction so even then it wouldnt matter.
I would much prefer to see someone use and enjoy the name with a fun character instead of flip it, but again it really isnt any of my business. I can have a little sad trombone moment over it and then just move on with my day.
I will continue to be hopeful that people who trade with me use the names but I will never hold my breath for that.

Any real-life information can be used against you, and if a person was smart they could build off of any detail you post from what you see out your window to what the weather forecast was on a particular day. This is 2024 and India is a country of 1.6 billion people. China the same, and america has only 308 million i think… Practically going the length with a person find.
Give me a few days and i bet even i would find you. Even if you are joking in one post or another bragging also can be used. All it takes is a refined search with most people’s information being so public.

You may have better luck on your own server. Someone already owns “Kirin Tor” on MG and i don’t think that many players alternate between the servers when they’ve done it before. Only thing worth acquiring is old content appearances for current server.

p.s. He’s only going to ignore me when he figures out he’s not going to find me. I didn’t post any actual PPI. Armchair survivalist always crack me up because they’re so paranoid about posting public information but ignore the fact that the internet already has them because they use Snapchat, TikTok and/or whatever social media platform is popular at the time.
I don’t use any of that stuff so I’m probably 10x safer than him even though I gave some very vague tidbits about myself
