I like the feature of Final Fantasy 14 of being able to play one character and switch classes. I think I would go for more of a completion on activities if I didn’t have my time divided between multiple characters.

Also I hate inventory management. I would like to see WoW copy Elder Scrolls online’s crafting bag. One bottomless bag serverwide that contains all crafting mats for all characters on one server.

Palia. The housing system so far is awesome.

Shaiya Ultimate mode Characters. 30% stronger than normal characters but it you don’t get Res’d within 2 minutes of dying by a healer your char is deleted.

FF XIV - running a dungeon with NPCs

Even better, with your other characters.

Also, player housing, but probably not FFXIV housing since they’re nearly impossible to buy.

It would never happen as the two games build classes differently but I think you could make it work in some way if the want was there, but professions to work like how they did in SWG.

Your class would be the profession + the ability to gather the items you needed like BS and mining or Herb and Alch. Collecting the better materials meant making better items and building a name for yourself.

It is the only game where I put any actual effort in crafting gear. I had a lot of fun and made a lot of good friends from their items made being what I was after/wanted. WoW however is far too old to change the system so drastically so this is just a really fun what if for me.

  1. Proper Player Housing from virtually any other MMO. WOW is the only mainstream MMO that doesn’t have player housing. I don’t count Garrisons.

  2. FFXIV’s Trust system for Normal-mode dungeons. Being able to learn boss mechanics and see the story at my own pace using NPCs and without resorting to Youtube videos would be nice.

  3. FFXIV’s Duty Roulette. For those who don’t know what that is, it’s basically permanent Timewalking. You queue in for a random dungeon or raid that can be from any expansion. Once per day, max level players get whatever currency is relevant at the time, while low-level players get bonus EXP.

  4. SWTOR’s shared materials inventory. All characters on a server in SWTOR share a materials inventory that’s separate from your normal inventory. So, example, you harvest some crystals on your Bounty Hunter, those crystals can then be used by your Jedi Knight. No having to mail around stuff to make something.

Cities that you can control and attack as a guild like in New world with their housing system which shows the top scored house on the street view.

I am a fan of any sort of Player Housing.

Skyrim, LOTRO, SWTOR, they have some form. As do other games I am sure. Galaxies had a great version where you could build structures. I am not asking for all that, I would be happy with something more than the Garrison. More customizable.

I am a fan of the SWTOR Legacy bank system. Basically an account wide bank. Server wide and useable by Alts in both Factions. That would be neat.

An Armor Dye system like in LOTRO or SWTOR would be nice.

Account wide legacy rep, tradeskill mats and currency.

Transmog slot not item.

Player housing.

GW2 style gear dyes.

I have basically zero hope this would be added though, since it would require labeling the surfaces of old models which seems like a lot of work, and they seem to enjoy making us farm different recolors of gear from different tiers of content.

ESO style housing.

It’s essentially an instance that anyone can “buy” and you can double them as guild halls or whatever. Outfitting your home plays deep into ESO’s existing profession systems, and some instances allow for unlimited custom construction so people build beautiful labrynths and jumping puzzles. This is much better than the Final Fantasy system where plots need to be camped to absurdity and theres a very limited availability of plots. It would also go a long way to providing the game a much needed “gold sink that people actually care about.”

As far as the fear of how player homes “empty the cities” - nonsense. put some things in the cities that people need to use and don’t let player homes replace those functions.

ESO style single player trials, single player dungeons, and boss “camps.”

ESO style voice acting. How a company as big as Blizz doesn’t have voice acted quest text is mind boggling. I get that it creates a logistical issue for editing quest text, but gimmie a break. If other companies can do it…

DAOC / GW2 / ESO / WAR style open pvp (wvw, rvr, ava, whatever you want to call it).

Speaking of ESO I’d love for different character idle animations. They already exist in the game with various NPC’s using them.

Level sync old content > Timewalking.

Bad luck protection on most if not all 1% “chase” loot (mounts, legendary drops, Garrosh Shoulders, etc. etc.) because no one should have to spend 10 years rolling dice for a ps2 graphic love rocket in a game they spend $12 a month to even be allowed to play. and you know damn well that if you did you wish you didn’t have to. None of my 1% mounts would feel worse if they had taken less time and dicerolls to get.

Guaranteed loot token from last boss of every raid that can be exchanged at a vendor for any piece of gear that drops from the raid (Clearing any raid every week the entire tier and never getting the drop you want is bs, vault does not help since it’s just extra dice rolls and nothing stopping you from getting 3x capes, 3x bracers every week)

Faction warfare system from Albion Online.

FF14’s toxicity enforcement.

Player housing, I just wanna sit in the tub of my house between SS queues.

Pretty sure wow already had this with vehicles but I just want to be able to dragonride hover while I clutch a goat and drop it beneath me.

Mature servers are #1 however, I really don’t care if you are immature and just want to spam swear words, I’ll ignore you, but I shouldn’t have to think twice about the nature of my conversation at 2am. I think its more mature to be able to ignore children on the internet than it is to try and police them

BDOs character graphics for humans because then I’d play a human.

But honestly, I want SWTOR’s companion system. I love having an NPC I bonded with throughout the leveling experience.

A sense of danger in the open world.

In the first MMO I played (Asheron’s Call), there was a zone called “The Obsidian Plains.”

Going to the OP was basically a test of, not if but, WHEN you would die. The types of mobs (Elites in WoW), and mob density, and just overall mayhem of the zone meant that … from the moment you landed … it was just a matter of time before you died.

And it wasn’t like zoning into a Raid and trying to solo it.

It was that delicate balance where you COULD survive! You were always right on the edge of it being REALLY disastrous and yet… you were just hanging on. It was DANGEROUS!!!

WoW completely lacks this element. The open world is a complete and utter yawn-fest in WoW.
