You misunderstand what is realistic ā€¦

what is realistic for one race isnā€™t for other look at naming conventions on ffxiv for example
Xā€™maru ā€¦ is a realistic name for a kitty race of the sun tripe

if I ever want to make a blood troll rply or a zandalri id want the (ā€™) character because it belongs in their races nameā€¦

You know there are addons you can get with everything youā€™re asking for. You can fill in your surname, bio, height, whatever other info you feel is pertinent to your character, and everyone else with that addon can see it. Theyā€™re quite popular on RP servers

Get rid of the name restrictions period. Let everyone be able to have whatever name they want like you can on call of duty. Getting a good name is almost impossible.

At least Details lets us nickname players :slight_smile: We just need an addon that will let us use nicknames on hover tooltips and unitframes and weā€™ll be set.

Thanks for all the projection, but I can tell. Thatā€™s a lot of vitriol over a disagreement over the need for special characters.

How about we make a deal:

  1. Only standard alphabet characters are allowed.

I would be fine with that, I donā€™t really use special characters in my names anyway. Might upset the players that do make heavy use of ā€œaltā€ codes and special characters though.
