What almost got me (and still does if I’m forced to interact) is Majordomo Selistra, especially the phrase “we cull the strong to protect the weak”. It absolutely disgusts me.

All of these things are bad but as someone who is chronically online and mentally ill, they’re not wrong about people who label everything as woke or fascist also being mentally ill. I’m not sure what the context is though.

is this the VA who voices the vulpera thing? its friggin awful. and so is that red dragon that died like 10 mins in. the va is all so bad.

Imo the problem with her voice is maybe more of a writing/line delivery thing than her voice actually being all that bad. There are some noticeable voice cracks here and there in her lines but she’s nowhere close to DF’s worst acting. Toddy and Selistra being the most immediate comparisons, you meet all 3 in the first ~30 minutes of the expansion.
But on Naleidea’s delivery, sometimes there are these little “embellishments” added on to the line that really don’t improve it in any way. Most egregious example I remember also happens right at the start, when you meet Sendrax.
Sendrax asks something about the Horde and Alliance not always working together and Naleidea starts the line with “Mm, ah, yes…” in a weird breathy tone that doesn’t really fit the situation(or the rest of the line following it) and has a bit of an odd pause before the rest of the line plays. Again I don’t know if that’s just how the line was written or the actress added the little embellishment herself but it just sounds unnatural.
I liked the handsome wizard line though.

Anyone else notice that the complaints about voice acting are almost always related to female voices?
Can’t remember the last time someone complained about the performance of a male voice actor in this game. No one is out here saying that they’re quitting WoW because of Kalecgos’s voice. But I do hear complaints about Naleidea, and Toddy, and Raszageth, and so on.

Not that I hate the voice, but the one that doesn’t seem to fit is Dathea, she sounds like she knits sweaters.

I’ve seen plenty of complaints about the majordomo that you have to listen to in every ruby life pools run so i don’t think its just limited to female voice actors. Imo dfs voice acting is pretty weak all around with no standout characters unlike say shadowlands had with the accuser, marileth, denathrius, renethal, and theotar just to name a few. None of the voices are THE JILL SANDWICH tier of bad but i can’t say i really like much of it either.
