Naga expansion confirmed

I just don’t see it going over well with the playerbase tbh

Dragonriding fanboys would be up in arms over the sudden removal of Dragonriding (a 100% underwater expansion would basically mean no “Dragonriding from day 1” since Dragonriding underwater doesn’t make sense/can’t exist), while pro-regular flying players would also be upset over being grounded and forced to grind Pathfinder again

After “spoiling” players with easy travel/movement from day 1 (Dragonflight), and then “suddenly taking it all away” for underwater zones, oof… it won’t go over well at all

This is just one of the reasons I don’t think they will go with a Naga/underwater theme (there would be too much friction/pushback from inconvenienced players)

Could have underwater dragonriding too, or a similar style mount with new movement options and a tree for underwater. I think dragons breathing underwater is a thing.

There are versions of dragons that can breathe underwater in other games.

See, but even if they tried/pulled that, “lore” fanboys would be up in arms and light up the forums with complaints about how it doesn’t make sense/it doesn’t fit the lore/Dragons can’t breathe underwater/etc

We’re talking about posters that turned something as trivial as “Warlocks can be any race now” into a 1000+ reply megathread :joy:

So if they tried to pull a Naga expansion certain groups of fanboys would be upset no matter what. It’s a “you just can’t win” dilemma for the devs

That’s going to happen no matter what Blizzard does. I also agree the Lightforged Draenei being Warlocks seemed funny to me, but I guess it’s possible they could exist.

Shiver me timbers! But that’s quite the leap there, matey.

Gonna be hard to integrate Naga into the next expansion when my dad works at Nintendo and already leaked to me that the whole thing takes place underground in caves

Gamers have very little situational or spacial awareness so as soon as they are introduced to an underwater zone they sperg. Very sad.

There’s water underground.

Check and mate.

yeah but I know all the zones that will release and none of them are naga-associated

I think my favorite thing about taking “Wowhead datamined a model” as evidence for the next expansion is that there are still like 100 things the next expansion could be.

OMG THE NEXT EXPANSION IS A RETURN TO DRAENOR

OML THE DREADLORDS AND SIRE DENATHRIUS ARE COMING BACK

OH MY LAWD, 11.0 IS OLD WORLD REVAMP CONFIRMED

Not to contradict your dad who works at Nintendo, but Blackfathom Deeps, the naga instances in TBC, and the naga part of Tomb of Sargeras are all underground in caves.

I hope it’s AT MOST a patch of the next xpac because god damn I had enough of boring pirate and ship stuff in BfA. I want a full on void invasion, a light invasion, something exciting.

What they did with Nazjatar was criminal. It should of been Underwater completely. Not like Vashj’ir. I say that since it’s abundantly clear the basic WoW player can’t handle complicated things like the directions of up and down or a third axis. Still it should of been completely underwater, but with gameplay akin to say Hyrule from The Wind Waker.

Perhaps allow players to jump higher and maybe have some moon-styled gravity but that’s about it. Dragonriding could also port easily to that system as well. Lets be honest, treading water is not easy. Run out of Vigor, you sink like a rock back to the bottom.

That’s all just left over bfa stuff since it failed to be the pirate/seas expac.

Agreed, NO to underwater zone the last thing I want or need is to go back to a zone like that.

I hope and pray for this. I also kind of want a few more allied races to pop out of Ian before this expac ends

In all fairness, it’s not like we’re a bunch of simpletons or something, the game just isn’t designed to play well in that environment lol
