Mythic Plus should be FUN, not a JOB

I doubt you’ll even remotely be convinced otherwise since most people driving down this line of thought are impossible to reach.

Here’s the thing. I’ve heard this take a ton of times, and people don’t really think about the time invested situation with this.

Someone who invested time to get ninety crests, a minimum of 8 runs at 9+, for the period of time we’re referring to, and upwards of 18 runs if everything goes south.

Each run is going to average 25-30 minutes. Let’s be generous and say they clear in 25 average, with no deaths, don’t spend an hour per key waiting in queue for people, and chain run these back to back.

The literal most generous time investment is 3 hours and 20 minutes of straight dungeon runs.
Add in the hours of waiting in queue, waiting on healers/tanks, failed keys, over time keys, the entire list of likely occurrences for the average player. That number can easily exceed 10 hours.

I’m sorry, but the leather shoulder piece I had crafted, with 10k tip, cost me all of 15-20k to craft.

Farming Bismuth for 30 minutes gets me half of that guaranteed. And this isn’t including anything I pick up to DE, sell, auction, you name it.

Anyone willing to spend 10+ hours in the hellscape that is “group finder” above a 5 at the moment is going to be patient enough to farm for less than an hour for the gold.

Or ask a guildie to spot them. Or socialize with people to get a good deal.

You can’t just “token buy” the crafted stuff as easy as people complain. There is a time investment. And those same “636” gear crests can be used on their 4/6 gear to pop it to 6/6 if they are impatient. And while you can buy mythic BoEs, it’s all of 2 slots. And the stats don’t work for every spec, so they aren’t even a valid option a large chunk of the time.

Simple and accurate take here. They should have kept the difficulty level up. The reason why so many people are complaining is because previous seasons handed out bis ilvl gear to bad players. Now, they feel entitled to it. And, rather than getting good, it’s much easier to externally complain that it’s Blizzard’s fault.

If you look at wowhead most KSMs are only gotten by ~25% of the playerbase. Meaning if you can get KSM you’re already in the top % of wow players

not only not suck, 4 other people that have an IQ higher than room temperature.

You can’t have progression content that is fun at every level for everybody. It’s pretty simple. Find your fun level and stick to it.

M+ has always felt like a job to a ton of players

Felt forced because just by far the easiest path to better gear

It is literally a forced pillar endgame content with zero new content that is supposed to be spammed until you loathe the game

M+ has literally never been fun for a ton of players that still did it every week since inception

When people lay it out like this. It makes me question life choices

lol dude, so much statistics.

Give us the ilvls of previous expansions, and if you are talking about the DF S4, it was the tokens, not the m+

Yeah, especially this season, of all things.

Pugging for 8’s and up even is just ridiculous at the moment. I easily have sat twice as long looking for a key to progress a slot instead of doing keys.

I’ve probably waited two or three times the time it takes to do my own keys just waiting on someone that isn’t jumping 2 key levels to tank or heal my own keys.

People assuming that you can just up and decide to have a full set of 636 crafted gear right now is just ridiculously entertaining. Like, man, you do realize that there are 13-14 slots to fill?

Pretty sure 130+ hours of commitment in keys, plus waiting on Tuesdays to get the extra crest cap to get the next piece… I’m pretty sure farming gold is the last thing you’re worried about farming at that point.

Considering mythic gear takes 75 crests to cap, opposed to the 90 to craft, and is 3 ilvls better, you’re actually just better off dumping the extra crests into the 4/6 hero gear and slamming your head into the wall to 10’s for the vault.

The crafted gear exists for problem slots, or ones that you can’t get your preferred stat weight in. No one is seriously ever full crafting 636 sets.

Those types of “metrics” would paint islands and Torghast as massive successes lol.

Was M+ ever fun?

The problem is that even with that issue previously you could easily fill vault without having to make premade groups and get on voice just to fill vaults.

The issue is they are forcing people who shouldn’t be in 20s really at all to try to push 20s right away when previously they would get myth track gear slowly and their season goal would be to get some of the portals where now just to get myth track gear they have to reach their seasonal goal

People care too much about that little ‘myth’ tag. Hero-track still upgrades all the way to 626, which is well beyond what pretty much anyone is going to need to clear up to and including 10s. But of course, since it’s not myth track, too many people consider it all ‘worthless’.

They should go back to those lower mythic+ levels. It’s almost like 20 keys was a good system so why remove it.

Except the last two levels still require gilded crests

I actually agree with this to be entirely honest. It was a much more open system before.

It’s too late to go back though. Going to need to make this system work.

Because the bottom 10 levels were basically dead the squish was fine the issue is that they bumped everything up 2 plus levels from what it was even in s4. Really in shadowlands the top gear came from 14s and 15s then it got bumped up to in dflight to 16s and 17s now it’s 19s and 20s.

If we’re keeping the 10 key levels then I think keys 2-5 should be more entry level then at keystone 6 there’s a ramp on difficulty with a new affix.

A normal raid/delves aren’t that difficult and give 603 gear but doing keys for the same gear is a lot harder. The difficulty isn’t matching. Really 10 key levels doesn’t work…

Maybe 2-4 is easier, 5-7 is intermediate, and 8-10 is advanced
