Mythic Plus should be FUN, not a JOB

this has always been a thing. Try-hards or sweats vs the casuals.

You’d think they’d have learned since slands almost killed the game. Only reason tww is doing well is because people liked sod a lot.

My story is identical to yours, and honestly many of the people who are on forums saying git gud aren’t even running the content.

My entire mythic guild asks who the hell asked for these changes, and are annoyed that now what used to be a more relaxing, fun, bonding activity between guild members that mythic raiding doesn’t provide due to how hyper focused it has to be…is now this.

Just going to lead to burn out and/or sub drop off so much faster this season.

“Fun” does not mean effortless end game loot.

In my opinion, M+ is fun and fine in its current form, especially after the latest round of announced nerfs and adjustments.

It seems like some people think of M+ as a loot pinata that everyone should have access to. But, they forget it is also a challenging end game content. It is not only for fun like pet battles.

Everyone does have access to great loot from M+. However, you must have the necessary skill, gear, and time to actually acquire it.

you’re not supposed to get hit by the laser beam on the boss… it shows exactly where its going to be before it even happens.

Nobody is asking for it to be effortless, they are asking for it to approachable and somewhat inclusive from a gear progression standpoint.

All one has to do is go look at the data, look at when and how fast mythic + comp diversity falls off fast to know the difficulty level and/or what a nuisance mechanics are to see there are flaws in the system.

M+ is the greatest system in WoW.

People need to get good at the game.

As someone hanging out in +4s-5s right now who is a casual solo player who only PUGs, I agree with a lot of this post. But I think really, the sole problem with mythic+ is that it is insanely bursty still. Somehow Blizzard not only failed to make it less bursty, they also somehow made everything more bursty? For example, City of Threads, if a player gets unlucky and gets targeted with 2 web bolts in a pack or another combo of spells they can be insta-deleted. I had someone last night go 100% to 0 before I could pop a Nature’s Swiftness heal on them.

The fact that mobs random target everyone with spells and abilities and those spells and abilities hit so hard is nuts. The boss fights are actually a breather and my life as a healer gets much easier. That design paradigm makes no sense. Trash mobs are trash mobs, they should be speed bumps that slow down the run, not sources of random, bursty death. For me, death in a mythic+ should only be a possibility in a boss fight or if the group pulls too many packs and the cumulative damage is too much to handle. Pulling single packs of trash mobs shouldn’t ever result in these fluky 1-shot deaths, it’s so weird and completely unfun.

What do you mean not rewarded at all? You just said you get 5 crests lol. Don’t fail 8s if you want all the crests.

I got all my 10s done on Tuesday haven’t done a key since then. Are people allowed to listen to me?

All these whiny posts just seem so self-centered.

Obviously this entire game is supposed to be something with a decent level of challenge that engages players, the problem is that everyone plays at a different skill level.

You sound like an unhinged person driving in their car, anyone going slower than you is trolling and anyone going faster than you is a maniac. The only appropriate speed is the one that you happen to be going.

Keys were probably a bit too hard, Blizzard nerfed them, and still all the crying. Give it a week or 2 see how it feels before you weep on the forums for more nerfs.

Beam always ticks on tank once regardless of where u stand. I have to pre-AMS it or kaboom!

The crazy part is how hard the lower keys are. I can roll into a +2 with either of my mains who are 2k score and pushing 7s for fun all day and end up in an endless wipe fest that is simply not carriable even with my higher ilvls. The reason? It’s a team game and those still running M+2 these days are the bottom of the barrel. can’t do basic mechanics, can’t do interrupts, low output numbers, stand in everything.

I honestly feel sorry for some of those guys. I see people with a glimmer of potential hard stuck under +5 because no one will give them a chance because of all the players far worse than them dragging them down. The system is bad in general. At least with pvp there is an Honor level that you can use to at least gauge experience even if ratting is low. With PVE, There is no such system so people choose to not take risky players with low scores regardless.

Selfish? Tell me how any of this impacts you in terms of making the content more approachable?

The dungeons are infinitely scaling. So at WORST, you go higher. Nothing ever gets too easy for you because you can just go higher.

It won’t change that you will still continue to have the same pool of players to play with (may be a net gain). Doesn’t change that your IO score will be higher as to feel superior. Doesn’t change anything that motivates someone like you…unless you are really saying that it bothers you that other people can progress that are “beneath” you, because you are such a selfless person. That would be cray!

Meanwhile, for everyone else, they get walled. It does impact them. If it impacts them, it impacts you when subs tank, and economy starts to dry up, and blizzard starts laying off even more.

But hey, pft, they are the selfish ones.

o thats good to know. Ive only healed or dps the fight and didn’t realize it was unavoidable for the tank.

I didn’t say selfish, I said self-centered.

Everyone on these forums seems to be operating under the assumption that their skill level is the one skill level that Blizzard needs to cater the difficulty of the game to accommodate.

M+ just got nerfed and this dude is on the forums already crying that it needs nerfed more and he probably hasn’t even stepped foot into a key yet to see how the changes feel.

It’s a neverending cycle.

Sounds like you’re being handed myth gear to me then.

Because it’s literally a skill issue. Not everyone is going to get full myth track gear, there’s a skill wall. Either you become a better player or you accept that youre at your wall.

If you’re struggling in a 7 right now, and you’re a mid-mythic raider, then something is wrong on your end.

M+ difficulty more closely (though still not quite as hard) lines up with mythic raid for myth track gear, which is how it should be.

That’s what 6-8s are, a decent level of challenge (kind of). If you want the best gear, you’re going to have to harder content.

No, it doesn’t. 8s and 10s line up better.

Trying to claim a 10 is harder than even the first mythic boss this tier is crazy. A +10 is easier than the first mythic Nerub’ar boss.

Stop listening to people who actually do high-end the content to instead listen to people who don’t? That makes no sense.

Yea, idk- I think the systems behind m+ have been designed to get worse and worse season over season, xpac over xpac. We get fewer rewards than what came before in any given season, and so people are over even trying.
To what end? Why try? Who cares if the rewards are just going to be fewer and further between, with more grinds, and fully gearing being less obtainable?
Pretty disrespectful to people paying blizz wages month over month. We are rewarded with more grind and fewer rewards?
So people are just going to min/max their degen behaviour and weasel into whatever they can get/brick, and/or pay for ksm/ksh carries, and/or just troll keys for fun.

you are doing the exact same thing though? except your demand only accommodates a small portion of players but theirs broadens it.

Like - I’m a mythic raider, and you know the drill. It isn’t like I can’t do the content. But objectively, I recognize when things are logically flawed and unhealthy for a game regardless of my preference.

Like I say to my guildmates, if we crap hard on the “casuals”, who the hell is going to pick all the flowers (as a joke, we know gold farmers never quit).

edit: I will agree that we gotta see how these changes play out. Haven’t tried them yet.

The OP asked for an overall 30% damage nerf. That would be a crazy nerf and M+ would become “effortless” compared to now.

I understand some people are frustrated that they are having trouble farming gilded crests and/or they cannot fill their vault with +10s yet. But, keep in mind M+ has been out for only 3 weeks.

As time goes on, people will get more geared, and more used to the dungeon mechanics and routes. Then, everything will feel more easier and accessible.
