I hate the idea that players are supposed to “graduate Delves” and move on to M+.
I chose Delves as my max level content of choice specifically because I hate all the nonsense from M+.
I like that it is solo. I like that it’s slow-paced with emphasis on exploration as opposed to the go-go-go rush-rush-rush of M+.
I don’t want Delves to be some sort of pre-M+ content. I want Delves to be their own thing and walk with it’s own two legs.
But the fact that at the end of the Delve journey Blizzard just nudges you in the direction of M+ tells me that Blizzard considers that we are supposed to “graduate Delves” and move on to M+, and that they have no intention to let Delves be a real pillar of WoW Gameplay…
I always had the option. Now they are nudging me towards it.
I can still refuse it, and I will, but the intention is clear: If you get at the end of Delves, you are supposed to move on to M+ to continue progressing your character. It’s either that or stagnation.
I fully intend on stagnating. But I wish Blizzard wasn’t so half-measured about Delves.
Nothing is a requirement. Video Games are optional.
But it would be nice if Blizzard actually supported Delves as an actual “pillar of gameplay”, instead of making it go halfway and then expecting players to move on to a different type of gameplay if they want to progress further.
A pillar isn’t really a pillar if it doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling. It’s not really bearing any load that way. It’s just decorative.
You never have to graduate from Delves. The gear is capped and I dont see them going beyond that point. If you want to get better gear. Raids/M+ are your options
To be fair, it’s not halfway. 11s are the end. And for M+, they only get gear to what… +12s? And if they want drops of Mythic track they need to graduate to Mythic raiding.
