Mythic+ Key From Tier 11 Delve - That's An Ill Omen

I don’t like this.

I hate the idea that players are supposed to “graduate Delves” and move on to M+.

I chose Delves as my max level content of choice specifically because I hate all the nonsense from M+.

I like that it is solo. I like that it’s slow-paced with emphasis on exploration as opposed to the go-go-go rush-rush-rush of M+.

I don’t want Delves to be some sort of pre-M+ content. I want Delves to be their own thing and walk with it’s own two legs.

But the fact that at the end of the Delve journey Blizzard just nudges you in the direction of M+ tells me that Blizzard considers that we are supposed to “graduate Delves” and move on to M+, and that they have no intention to let Delves be a real pillar of WoW Gameplay…

did they tell you that? or is that something you made up?

They are giving a Mythic+ key and a quest to do Mythic+ at the end of a Tier 11 Delve. What do you think that means?

It seems to me they want me to do Mythic+ after doing Tier 11 Delves.

it means they’re giving you an option. if you don’t like the option, you can ignore it.

the idea about “graduating” seems to be something you came up with on your own. why?

What’s wrong with that? They’re not forcing you to do it. If you don’t want to do it, don’t. Simple.

M+ has always been the next step up in gear and difficulty from delves. If you chose delves to be your end game keep doing delves.

I always had the option. Now they are nudging me towards it.

I can still refuse it, and I will, but the intention is clear: If you get at the end of Delves, you are supposed to move on to M+ to continue progressing your character. It’s either that or stagnation.

I fully intend on stagnating. But I wish Blizzard wasn’t so half-measured about Delves.

It is not a requirement. If you don’t want to do M+ then don’t.
I get stuff from Delves that I sell or throw away every run.

Nothing is a requirement. Video Games are optional.

But it would be nice if Blizzard actually supported Delves as an actual “pillar of gameplay”, instead of making it go halfway and then expecting players to move on to a different type of gameplay if they want to progress further.

A pillar isn’t really a pillar if it doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling. It’s not really bearing any load that way. It’s just decorative.

You never have to graduate from Delves. The gear is capped and I dont see them going beyond that point. If you want to get better gear. Raids/M+ are your options

Can we trade it in for something that doesn’t take up bag space? Like Mats, or something useful?

To be fair, it’s not halfway. 11s are the end. And for M+, they only get gear to what… +12s? And if they want drops of Mythic track they need to graduate to Mythic raiding.

Drop the quest, delete the key is what’s being said in the other thread.

You can’t delete the key.

They could do both. In fact we may be headed in that direction.

Ion would like it so that may be what’s holding it up.

“Hey, you can also do harder content if you want”

How dare they mention such things

So dont do m+? Seem easy enough what are we missing?

As someone that raids, delves, and does M+, I agree with the OP.

Keep these pillars separate and don’t prod people to do one while they are doing another.

Or they can grab it at the Vault.

Delves get Champion Gear on the Delve, Hero Gear on the Vault.

M+ gets Hero Gear on the Dungeon, Mythic Gear on the Vault.

You can get top gear from M+. It takes time, but you can. You can’t get it from Delves at all.

I kinda hoped eventually Blizzard would allow Delves to be an actual “pillar” of gameplay as Blizzard said.

But if it doesn’t reach the ceiling, it’s not really a pillar, is it? It can’t bear any load that way. It’s just a really big piece of decoration lol
