There is heroic raid loot that is better for a lot of people than 226 vault gear (trinkets in particular.)
This might blow your mind, but most raiders do both! It’s not a zero -sum game, Sharon.
The best passive trinkets tend to be from raid still, even at 213/220, like Cabalist’s Hymnal or Heart of A’lar. Some rings are worthwhile too like the truly bonkers amount of vers on the Xymox ring. And of course that 220 weapon bead from the last two bosses is nice for most classes who are struggling wth their vaults.
I don’t agree with either of the 2, I think the m+ gearing is fine. The one that needs improvement is the raid one to make it worthwhile.
It should be 220 in the first 8 bosses and 226 in the last 2 in the great vault for heroic. For me it isn’t fair that a +7 has the same ilvl as in heroic. It should be the same as a +12 or +11 (at least)
And I think that in mythic it should be 233 in the first 8 bosses and 240 in the last 2, or something like that. So it could be a little more relevant to go to raids.
The fact that I have to go into a raid to get AOTC and cutting edge achieves is ridiculous and ruining M+
Don’t even get me started on Mythic raid gear and the fact that I’m forced to mythic raid to obtain gear to push beyond 20s is disgusting and raiding should be removed from wow!
In fact I just wish I could complain all day every day! Thank you for reading the most asinine comment on one of the very many asinine posts of this hour!
I’ve been raiding just fine without any concern about Mythic+.
Maybe you need to just chill out a bit and focus on having a good time raiding and not so much on whether or not you are playing the slots in the most efficient manner possible.
So your problem is with chasing BiS gear then? That would explain why I enjoy the dungeons I run and don’t have any real problem with the loot differences. I just play for fun I don’t chase BiS gear.
When speaking about content that raid teams should do, I feel as if we are always speaking from a PuG perspective: ie - my achievements, my gear, my standing. Opposed to: our overall gear, our achievements, our standing.
Guilds are not all revolving door competency teams floating naturally to the top as everyone is slowly replaced by the better player until the roster is done with the content in a month and goes on to Mythic raiding, or goes fallow until cross-realm Mythic opens or the next raid is opened.
Some guilds are a mixture of competent and not so competent players that choose to band together regardless of that difference. This is where the M+ gearing disparity is an issue. Everyone knows this is a gear based game. No one, especially in a guild, wants to be the person who is not bringing the best they can. They don’t have to fly with the headliners, but they don’t want to land under the tanks, because they enjoy playing in a team sport and want to do their part. So that leaves them with gearing to compensate as they work on the rest that will come with time (hopefully, not always, and that’s okay).
And that leaves them with only one sure avenue: M+. However, if you are struggling to raid, M+ is going to expose even more the areas that you do not execute well. So it traps the struggling player into a lose/lose situation. You don’t ever play to your strengths, and you always feel like “that guy”.
It’s enough that my guild participates in the upkeep of the various systems that are presented each expac; but I’d like it if there was not the pressure to participate in a second form of end-game content.
For this reason, I agree that the GV should be adjusted to an equivalent rise in gear ilvl to choose from when you just raid. I think that would go a long way towards sidelining the “need” to run M+ as a player who has chosen raiding as their preferred end-game content.
So as someone who no longer raids, and hasn’t for quite some time, how do you think I feel about not being able to push keys because i dont raid? It’s been this way as long as mythic+ has existed. Raid has always had the highest item level gear available, usually has at least one if the best trinkets, had the best azerite, still has the only 226 conduits, do I need to go on?
Your illusion that gearing through mythic+ us somehow faster or better is just that, an illusion. it took me months to break 220 on any of my characters, while people doing the same difficulty of raids were nearing 225 in that same amount of time.
Says who? Mythic + came in legion, and legion being an overall good expansion kept WoW going, actually… that’s not even true. People would have kept playing regardless if legion sucked. Mythic + saved nothing.
Half of my raid is just doing the raid, and it feels like we’re being left behind. I don’t LIKE M+. I don’t want to do it. And yet because I’m only doing the raid, I’m waiting for the small number of raid gear drops to get my gear better to hopefully contribute more to the raid. Whereas the M+ folks are outdoing everyone, so the rest of us feel like we’re a drag on things.
Now, you might think that that’s Working As Intended… but all it will succeed in doing is killing the spirits of those of us who only raid, so we don’t bother again. And where does that get everyone? Hurting for people and interest. It’s bad enough we’re in a massive content drought and losing people to apathy, but the fact that I’m still in a piece of sub-200 gear despite raiding Heroic Nathria up through Stone Legion because my piece only drops from Denathrius just makes my head spin.
I am a raider. I hate mythic plus. I want raiders to gear from raids and M+ to gear from M+. Why is that so difficult to understand?
Oh look, another heroic raider complaining about M+ loot. What is it about mid level raiders and M+ anyway?
I’d prefer them delete raiding and focus on making more dungeons. I prefer to pick up and play and put down when I want without being on a schedule. Raiding is antiquated.
The mental gymnastics in this thread is insane. M+ is already the slowest gearing progression this expansion considering you get one actual piece of loot per week from the vault and there’s a high chance it’ll still be useless anyways. Valor gear only going to 220 already made the entire system useless out of the gate except for Phial/Scale/Pox/Box and it’s useless for alts because if you upgrade a piece of gear that’s from below 210 you’re permanently losing valor you can’t get back.
The amount of people that want a system removed because they’re the equivalent to Bronze in League of Legends skill wise is a joke.
If there wasn’t keys to push for score there would be literally nothing to do in PVE content again where you literally log on twice a week to raid and that’s it. Nothing else.
