Imagine, you are the best team for m+ in the world. You are an m+ scientist and your team is composed of Albert Einstein, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Isaac Newton, Robert Oppenheimer, and Marie Curie. You win all 4 cups.
Congrats you have an hourly wage of $30.77/hr. You will make $64k/yr if you win LITERALLY every cup of the year, assuming there are 4 seasons in a year (there wonāt be).
Everyone else including second place even if they win every cup will have to work a real job or have another form of side income.
If you finish 4th or lower you likely wonāt even write it as taxable income.

Your forgot to subtract for benefits, taxes, loss of overtime, how many hours a week are being spent?
Assuming a 40 hour work week for 3 months of time.
They need people who hate golf to come in and improve it obviously, make it more exciting and give it a wider appeal.
Iām sure the other golfers will adore the Golf+ players.
If it was really popular weād see more than a tiny % of the player base watching and paying attention. If wow still has a few million subscribers and can only pull in 30-50k watching itās kind of a joke. I mean I know people who donāt even play DOTA or League and love to tune in for their big events because of how high quality it is and they actually understand the basics of those games even if they have no idea what the different champions skills areā¦I guess MDI is at least better than Arena since 3v3 last man standing while easy to understand is pretty zzz, especially when you have no idea what the each class brings to the table.

I mean it kind of IS timed nowadays though thanks to Bryson DeChambeauā¦if they let him play untimed rounds heād spend 2 days with his protractor planning out one 5 foot putt.

they delay balance until the events are over
and if they are trying to say they need the AWC or MDI to asses the game for balance they really are catering exclusively to the top 30 players and its ogre for wow

Who wants to watch WoW esports just to watch the same few specs used in each time because this dev team doesnāt know what balancing is.
Yes let the speed runners do their thing and get these tournaments over with so the classes can be tuned again please. The fact that tuning gets benched until. So as to not mess up the āesportsā players that should be able to adapt to changes is rather annoying.

And whatās worse is that people want to pile on and make MDI even harder and with weirder rules to make watching āmore interestingā.
From what I understand, most MDI competitors are just players who want to compete. Theyāre not sponsored āe-athletesā. Thereās not enough money for most players to even consider this a kind of career. At best, if youāre one of the top players, you probably make most of your money from your streaming and youtube content, not any prize pools.
All that said, Iāll probably watch a bit. I do like the dungeons a lot and having a format where you can consume M+ content in a way that has actual casters commenting on it could be fun.
This is very true. Itās not like the player-base loved the content so much they just had to form an E-sport around Mythic+. Something like that only happens naturally from the bottom-up. This comes from top-down management who are very confused about what WoW is. But they are legends in their own minds and experts in Esports & selling ads on Twitch.

esports have no place in an MMO. Seriously, this is why M+ was such a terrible idea. Everything it encourages is degenerate gameplay, the worst mindset of dungeons that everyone hated and yet they brought it in specifically to be able to esport PVE.
Thereās a reason no other MMORPG on the market has e-sports in their game.
