Mythic + content gets like maybe max a couple 100 viewers.
If any other mythic+ stream has more its not because of the Mythic+ it is because of the person streaming.

200,000 people like watching it or whatever but a million would prefer some class balance thatās not happening thanks to this.
I was looking at Twitch yesterdayāI thought WoW was the 9th most streamed game. Didnāt Asimongold get a bunch on Twitch or am I just thinking heās overhyped?
You will know why golfing is a thing when you hit ur mid 50ās
Also itās kinda telling that Blizzard announces this on their forum and the reactions are mostly boos.
Then stop whining.
Iām not whiningāIām doing the most Philly thing I know how to doā
BOOOOOO BOOOO THIS SUCKS BOOOOO
Oh you sweet summer child
Youāre clueless. Gaming culture has changed significantly in the past decade. Itās not even comparable, really. No matter how hardcore EQ was compared to WoW, they had nothing resembling anything like mythic+ in the game.
Youāre from philly? Iām so sorry bro, I didnāt realize. Thatās rough.
EQ combat was essentially no where near as complicated as Retail Wow is today. You had 8 spells and a few macros. Thatās it. Then auto attack.
Those venture capitalist dollars need to show for something.
I started to play video games, because the act of watching sports and not participating escaped me.
Now the thing I loved is supporting something I donāt like or agree with. I am at a complete loss of words over the thought that people watch video games as a form of entertainment?
I must have gotten old. Itās time for me to move on I suppose. I seriously find the notion of watching video games more pathetic than the act of spending all my time playing them.
I used to be the same way but I do find myself watching some youtubers/streamers play games the older I get. But itās not WoW. Itās normally in creative games or strategy games where they impose impossible rules on themselves and make jokes while playing.
Watching someone play PvE MMOs is like boring and not interesting at all because the players have no control over the content. No matter what Mythic+ is always going to be Mythic+. You canāt change the rules, how you play, or impose any type of crazy uncertainty to the game.
Thereās 0 player agency in PvE MMOs, the only agency you get is who you play with, thatās it.
it was a raiding game
excited to see fire mage/hunter to dominate once again in M+ meta.
There were what 4 raids at launch? Naggy, Vox, PoF, and PoH?
It was not a raiding game.
Most players never raided. It was a leveling game. Thatās how it was designed. Literally go watch any fan plays or content releases of Pantheonāitās a leveling game in an open world at itās core not a raiding game.
I should have quoted: āI wonder if the original creators of WoW would have ever imagined this.ā
every dev for wow has said its a raiding game. always has been and even before SL release they told us to raid.
dont know wtf Pantheon is, this is WoW weāre talking about.
so no, the og devs would never have imagined M+ and E-sports
Iām getting too old for this $%^&. And Iām someone that comes from arcade culture of the 90s and early 2000s and goes to majors and evo every year up until 4 years ago.
The only competetive genres of games i will ever only respect and watch are RTS, quake and fighting games. The later of which is really the only surviving genre of the 3 old gaurd competitive games left. And they all share one key thing in common, their formal competitive format is univsrsally 1v1. You are forced to be humbled, you are forced to hold the Ls. You arent afforded the luxory of convincing yourself it was your teams fault and not your own. You arent afforded to luxory of blaming poor balance for your loss.
But this?.. hell no.
Once upon a time, competitive multiplayer games earned the right to have a competitive scene because the games were proven and naturally attract competition.
Now, what you see plastered all over the front page of twitch is manufactured hype fueled almost entirely by the promise to investors that esports is legit and only going to get bigger and totally not a bubble that is at risk of bursting. This is crafting the esports angle before the game itself has even proven such a scene is even desired. It plays entirely on the interest of existing players. OW and more recently, riots valorant are prime examples of this. And it plays expertly on the psychological attributes that make people play for longer when they arent faced with the burden of exclusive performance and have to see themsleves lose just as often as they win.
Iām out.
As someone who casually enjoys actually doing Mythic+, why the heck would I want to watch someone else on a screen? Wow is a game. I want to play it myself.
