My mage is 480 and I’ve still got several s3 pieces that heroics will give me upgrades for, and that’s not even factoring in crests. The weekly cap is what, like 340 now? Between LFR, world content, and heroics you can get plenty high.
So enough to upgrade 6 pieces of gear from 476 to 489.
Which doesn’t dispute the point that there is no clear path from Heroic to M0. You just have to do everything possible and hope that you get lucky and get something you need.
Well that, and time, as you wait weeks for vault rewards and the cap to raise.
Maybe in a premade with skilled players. There are a lot of players reporting they failed M0s with that ilvl…so it’s debatable.
They expect you to do heroics and upgrade that gear until you’re geared enough for Mythic 0. Then you’re expected to keep running Mythic 0 to learn the elevated mechanics so you can succeed.
It’s exactly what I did and it worked really well. But you have to put in the work.
Some are easier than others. Had an undergeared druid tank do well enough in Brackenhide and one other, I forgot which one we ran…
But RLP and the tree boss in the academy were just walls we couldn’t push past. I have no idea how to make it easier. Heroic offers little for anyone, LFR might offer something if we’re lucky, otherwise it’s heavily RNG dependent to get our tank geared enough or alts geared enough to provide the handicap necessary to bring M0 into our skill level.
This difficulty definitely needs to be tuned down a bit. It’s off-putting at this point. We spent like 2 hours in two different dungeons last night and weren’t able to push past these two walls.
My HPS was sitting between 170k-200k the entire time while I was providing as much DPS as I could, and our DPS was all doing over 100k. IDK what the standard is here, but we couldn’t beat either of those two bosses.
Maybe we should just stop trying and play something else? IDK what to do from here. It doesn’t feel like I can play with friends and get anywhere.
Tree boss is all about positioning. Stack when adds are about to come out, rotate left, aoe adds, focus big add, when the green cricle comes out everyone stands on it.
Two reasons off the top of my head. Bad RNG. Not enough time to constantly farm heroics, crests, or flightstones.
So, this is just simply not true.
Again, heroic ilvl…but with full tier sets along and multiple BiSs. This is a silly argument that people keep repeating because it is not the same as mismatched heroic dungeon gear
We had all the adds stacked, we were burning as hard as we could. We might have been doing something wrong, IDK what, but it feels like there was little-to-no room for failure, which is crazy for this difficulty. This doesn’t feel like a difficulty that should be a wall for so many people.
It doesn’t feel great for a 2-hour session to end with one boss killed and just giving up.
I’m sorry, what circle? There was no obvious sanctuary or anything to stand in. I guess we could deep-research mechanics or something better… But should it be so unforgiving at this difficulty? We’re not mythic raiders or high key pushers, we’re just a casual group of friends with differing skill levels.
Mechanics should be important, but they either need to be telegraphed much better if they are, and/or they should be a little more forgiving at this level.
What is the demographic this is intended for? Higher-skilled people will be doing M+, right? So why have such an intense bottle-neck at the entry level? Personally, it’s pushing me away from even bothering with it right now.
Didn’t see a single green circle. I’ll go watch a youtube video, I suppose. Shouldn’t have to, but it seems like that’s intended.
Aren’t like 2-5 or something timer-free now as well? The progression of the challenge is not done well between heroic dungeons and m0. It’s too much of a jump.
I mean, it’s their gamble. They’re welcome to push people away to try to make lower level dungeons appealing to more people who don’t run them because they’re doing higher level content, rather than make them more appealing to people interested in more challenging content from the ground level.
No argument here, but it’s pushing me away from bothering with it. Maybe I should just stick to world content. I don’t want to run it if I can’t complete it within reason with friends.
