but in comparison to people who have only had say the last couple seasons to go on as a guide. its effectively a brick wall.
Agreed. Itâs especially surprising because overall I would have considered DF one of the most accessible x-packs they ever madeâŚand then they had to go make this change at the end
I always thought that one of the major reason vanilla was so big was because of how much easier and accessible it was than all the other MMOs on the market. I donât understand the race to make MMOs harder. You used to see guys in their 60s raiding, and I wonder if older people can even keep up with these things anymore.
The change to the system simply excluded an entire group of players out of mythics and/or m+ (the people who did 2s to 10s and maybe a bit higher). This was done an attempt to appease the anti-timer folks who demanded decent gear from dungeons that wasnât timed. This was a mistake as most anti-timer complainers belong to the super casual demographic that barely ever even stepped into season 3 +2s
this makes no sense since someone who barely does mythics wouldnt go into a mythic thats not timed thats the equivalent of a +10.
You should go and take a read:
In the Player Feedback Loop
As a part of ongoing development in Dragonflight, the development team identified three issues to address based on community feedback regarding the dungeon system as it is:
- Heroic dungeons are barely distinct from Normal dungeons at maximum level, and that distinction mostly only matters during a few days after players first reach max level.
- âMythic 0â dungeons rapidly lose relevance a few weeks into an expansion, once the M+ season starts, with occasional exceptions for the weekly event quest.
No, itâs an introduction to whatâs supposed to be the beginning of an end game pillar. Itâs meant to be hard. Itâs meant to take awhile if youâre unfamiliar/low on gear.
Those people just have to understand theyâre gear went backwards in power. Itâs fairly quick and simple to gear up and step over the wall. And this was needed as this is the format going forward into TWW
How this feels, is how S1 is going to feel in TWW, and how S1 felt in DF, and how S1 felt in SL. This isnât a ânewâ concept or feeling. We deal with this every expansion.
bro this is the end of an expansion. it shouldnt feel like the beginning. all it does is tell players who want to try out mythics. come back next expansion.
if they had let the jump be to +5âs this wouldnt have been that problematic. this ISNâT something you want to do at the end of an expansion as has been stated before.
Heroic probably requires introducing all trash/boss abilities, and a buff to mob/boss durability (not damage!) so they get a chance to go through a full mechanics cycle. Then players can maybe âlearn mechanicsâ.
Honestly, what would help most is NPCs yelling some more instructions for key aspects of boss mechanics. The what-are-you-doing-step-dragon lady by the tree boss in Algethâar Academy could 100% yell some variation of âGet in the green circle to clear your debuff!â and âKill the saplings before the next wave grows!â, for example.
Every patch is supposed to feel like a new beginning essentially.
Just a lot of people over gear the lower levels going into a new patch so it doesnât feel that way.
It being the end of an expansion is irrelevant. But honestly the best time to roll it out so youâre not blindsided going into the next expansion.
as long as itâs heroic only XD. The last thing I want is to hear the backseating npcs yelling at me in my 100th key of the dungeon.
Oh the dungeon journal!
Honestly, the thought of Chromieâs horrible voice screeching at me to jump sounds awful.
Does the dungeon journal voice contextual instructions in real time? Thereâs a major difference between reading about something with zero idea how it looks during the fight, and being instructed exactly what to do as it happens. Remember the dungeon journal does not explain how to execute the fight; just what individual boss abilities do.
Thereâs a reason modern game design doesnât go for instruction manuals anymore and goes for tutorials instead.
I was warned very early in the thread he was a troll.
I will do the same for you Dont waist your time.
He still got me hooked a little. Despite the warning lol.
It literately fails on all aspects as an introduction. You have to be blind to think otherwise.

It does. AA tree boss for example. Green circle for example since this was brought up in another similar thread.
In Mythic you get a bleed called Splinterbark (itâs in the dungeon journal). It says once you kill the add (Ancient Branch), that it leaves behind a spark of life that heals allies and clears your bleed.
It tells you what to do. Kill add, get in circle to heal/clear debuff, continue on like normal. The people who are unable to grasp the simple nature of this arenât going to benefit from trying to pay attention to some voice activated commands either.
You have to be blind to think otherwise.
And you must be trying to skip steps if you think it is.
Run normal, get the gear (460?)
Run heroic, get the gear (476)
Run Mythic, get the gear (493)
You see how each previous step sets you up for the next one. You trying to go from 460 into 493 content is whatâs hard. OrâŚI guess trying to follow proper procedure and trying to play past your skill limit is whatâs hard.
You have to be blind to think otherwise.
Ohhh here it comes, heâs replying now. Just mute while you can. He goes in circles and alt hops.
My warning was a milisecond to slow
He goes in circles and alt hops.
Youâve been proven wrong on multiple occasions on everything youâve said and you still double down on this? Well, I guess when youâre wrong you continue to fake it until you make it.
Youâve been proven wrong on multiple occasions on everything youâve said and you still double down on this?
Absolutely. If you are going to double down on being so wrong about the difficulty level of M0 and how it compares to the difficulty of heroic. Iâm going to act just as ridiculous towards you.
Itâs not a good sign when someone warns you of someone shortly after they reply to your thread.
Maybe you should make another forum alt and start all over again so you donât have that crap reputation.
im confused whose alt hopping.
